Try your luck with Bharathi or VKaveri or Sri Krishna, but just don't bother with Orange Travels. Their bus from Chennai to Hyderabad is old, slow and arrives late. They neither provide any refreshments on bus, nor stop for dinner.

VKaveri is my first choice when I couldn't get Charminar. There is a Multi axle Volvo sleeper which is quite comfortable compared to others. No rash driving and mostly on time. Starts at 7.30 PM in Siruseri which is convenient to me to board near my home.

Thanks. Booked VKaveri for onward journey on 3rd Feb and return on 4th Feb. Train tickets were available only by Kacheguda express which we didn't want. Didn't want to pay airfare. Didn't want to drive at night either, so opted for bus.

Orange being slow is a surprise .. I remember one of their Volvos blazing past me doing 140+ on the Bangalore Chennai route some years back.

Looks Like New Intercity Electric Buses has been started between Bangalore & Mysore. Operated by KSRTC (Wet Leased from EV Power+ - Driver & Maintanence from 3rd party and conductor from KSRTC). Taking New Expressway all along including Mandya Byepass. Fare Rs.320. Buses are from Olectra with a range of 300 km

KSRTC is going to run electric buses inBangalore- Chikmangalur/ Virajpet/ Shivmogga/ Madikeri.

V.C: to respective owner, as per video took 2 Hrs for Mysore- Bangalore Journey

Has anyone tried APSRTC/TSRTC buses from Chennai to Hyderabad? Fares are nominal and they offer Sr.Citizen concession too. But they leave only from Madhavaram Bus stand and drop seems to be central bus stand at Hyd only. Are they sleeper buses or just have reclining seats?

I used a Orange Sleeper Bus last month to do Hyderabad to Chennai return trip.

Booked using Abhibus.
Both tickets combined cost me about 4k.

Chennai, pickup and drop off points was Madhya Kailas.

The Hyderabad to Chennai was ok. Chennai to Hyderabad was very good.

Swami Ayappa , YBM and TranzKing are good.

Choose based on wheee you reside in Chennai. Essar & TaT buses go via Velachery OMR and then to Tambaram. Also Essar goes to Tatabad ( near north Coimbatore railway station) in Coimbatore.

Hindustan had a service via Pondy don’t know whether it’s still running post covid
