Well Thanks a lot for your prompt response, the design of the projector is new information for me. My main worry is the workmanship and the execution of the whole thing.

Have sent you a PM as well, grateful if you can respond to that too.

Replied.

Is that because the stock projector lens isn't clear and has a dotted pattern on the lens?! Is this one of the main limiting factors?

It's not the lens. It's the internal element. Here's a picture of the stock projector

The middle piece has a rectangular shape to pass the light out. In the next picture which I captured from a video I took when dis-assembling the projector will show the rectangle where the blue arrow is. Sorry about the poor quality, but I hope you guys got the idea. The light that's coming out of that rectangular area is all that is really being projected

And this - is the Morimoto! Nothing... the reflector is projecting everything straight onto the lens!

Great insight boss! This means that upgrading to 35W bulb will help but it again would be restricted by same design and actual gains would be far less than what is expected after spending $$$

Small Update - It's been 2 years since I have upgraded my headlights to Morimoto Mini D2S. Since then the only changes I have made are upgrading to 5500K bulbs bought from AliExpress. It's been awesome so far, rain or shine, day or night. Every time I drive at night, I feel good about the light setup. The car has seen several road trips, servicing, washing of engine bay etc. So far things have held up well with no condensation in the lights.

I'd love to upgrade to LEDs but that's on the back burner for now.

Link for these bulbs please.
You would consider these an upgrade over the Morimoto XBs ?

Do you notice anything negative due to the 50w ballast ?

Can't find the link to these bulbs in my order history. I usually search for D2S Bulbs with the keywords d2s 5500k 55W and then pick the best based on reviews.

I didn't find anything negative about the bulbs with the 50W ballast.

I was searching for light upgrades for an S-Cross and came across this thread.

Brilliant job done by sudeepg!! clap:

I found this page for Morimoto India - facebook.com/morimotoindia/
called the number to inquire about product availability. Was told that nothing has been coming to India since the lockdown and prices are more than double, currently.

I had two questions I was hoping to get help with -

1. Are the products available to purchase in India from anywhere else?

2. Is there a plug-&-play set up available for an S-Cross, for the headlights?

Would appreciate any info. Thanks

Saw this only 2 years later, sorry about the late reply.

I am not sure if Morimoto is available to purchase from anywhere else. Even if there is, then it would be quite expensive.

There is really no plug and play setup for S-Cross, you have to make one.
