Nice to know this thread helping members, as I had intended it to be. You can always look at the holder for the Tab, that I had posted. Though it is slightly on the pricier side, it has fantastic build quality and the required sturdiness to hold the weight of the Tab and it also has very good reviews on Amazon India (4.4 Rating).

Cheers...

Actually I was looking for a magnetic and a smaller footprint holder. Hence ordered this - https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B0C...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Will write about the effectiveness of the holder after i use it

Cheers

In the Air Condioned Car, heat should be a non issue, as far as my limited testing goes. If you are chilling at 20~25 degrees in the car, why would your tab have any problems, especially when it's location too, is just above the AC vents?

Will keep it further updated.

Actually it is more of a concern in cars than in motorcycles. We cannot park the car somewhere and leave without removing phone or tablet from the car. Once I left my phone inside the glovebox and it had turned off due to extreme heat when i got back. This is also the reason why most dash cameras have wired connection or use capacitors instead of lithium batteries.
This can vary according to the region though.

I have clearly mentioned that you can easily remove and take away the Tab in a jiffy IF you feel that excessive heat will cause issues while storage or parking. While operating the Tab in a Air Conditioned vehicle will be a NON ISSUE as the car should be at a cool ambient temperature while driving. Kindly try not mixing operation and storage of the tab, in this context.

Cheers...

Actually it is an issue. Even if you are taking a half an hour break, you would need to remove the tab and carry it with you. Otherwise it will tend to get overheated, especially if it is mounted on the windshield with direct radiation. Talking from personal experience. Regular phones and tabs are not designed to be usednin direct sun for long periods.

No need to get personal. Some of us have pointed out a concern based on our personal experiences. You may choose to disregard it but many others would find the info useful.

It was not personal at all mate nor was that my intention. Of course, once you have placed your opinion on an open forum, members are free to take their decision based on facts. In peak summer months, like it is nowadays, of course the car interiors will get hot. That does not stop manufacturers or users to own cars with big panaromic sunroofs, when even a moving car with ac on, becomes an oven at 45 degree ambient temperature. Does that stop manufacturers from giving the option of sunroofs to people, NO! Even though I am a big opponent of panaromic sunroofs for hot climate countries like India. In the same way, in these 2~3 months of extreme weather, it is advisable to immediately remove the tab when parking the car in peak heat. So either you can adjust your usage style or not use this solution at all, is totally up to you. For anyone, not ready to adjust to this peak heat usage pattern, this solution is not for you! That was my humble submission.

Cheers...

Testing the Tab at 44 Degrees'C for temperature and battery - 22-05-2024

Had to go on a short leisure trip to Noida and the Tab was well tested in the extreme blistering heat that North Indian summers can throw at you -

Started from home at 10.41am at 34 degree -

38 degrees at the Expressway. Zero visibility issues -

Finally by 12 noon, the temperature reached 44 degrees. The car was chilling 24.1 degrees (Auto AC set at 24). Nice fuel efficiency of 11.8kmpl on this trip -

Tab and Android Auto worked flawlessly with zero lags -

Finally reached our destination at Noida -

Safely parked in the underground parking. Left the Tab as it is, no power off -

Enjoyed at Imax -

Got some 'Gyan' on Irish diplomacy at the bar -

DIY: Get Android Auto in any Car/Bike for Free (or under 10k)-skoda-superb-tab-testing-44-degrees-220520248.jpg

Started back home around 6.30pm. Temperature still hovering in high 40's in this long rush hour traffic. Car was chilling at 25~26 degrees with music blaring through Spotify on the car's stereo -

DIY: Get Android Auto in any Car/Bike for Free (or under 10k)-skoda-superb-tab-testing-44-degrees-220520249.jpg

Finally reached home around 8.30pm hearing the 'Cult of Snap'. Ambient Temperature still at 37 degrees. Return FE was 10.5kmpl due to heavy traffic -

DIY: Get Android Auto in any Car/Bike for Free (or under 10k)-skoda-superb-tab-testing-44-degrees-2205202410.jpg

Battery was still at 58% with a full day's usage without charging. It was last charged 12h 47min ago, as is evident in the photo. So I easily foresee a 10 hour screen on time without charging, with this Tab -

DIY: Get Android Auto in any Car/Bike for Free (or under 10k)-skoda-superb-tab-testing-44-degrees-2205202411.jpg

Zero issues whatsoever. And really thankful for the increased visibility on this higher screen size than a typical phone.

Cheers...

Your setup looks incredibly good and I can imagine the relief and comfort you'd be getting from this. I have been looking for a similar solution for my Altis and yours look amazing and am inspired. But, I use an iphone and hence wanted to know are there any apps that support Carplay on an android tablet and where i can simultaneously use bluetooth audio connected to the car audio?

Kindly see if this video helps you out, though I don't use Apple and have not tried out this solution personally. I believe you need some additional hardware like a Carlinkit CCPA kit (around 7k) to get it going along with Autokit apk app and a OTG usb a to c connector to connect it to the tab & it should work. But then the cost factor could come in play - https://amzn.in/d/ed3HjZU

Kindly go through other YouTube videos of some Indian users also (though I take no responsibility of these videos) -

Cheers...

Buddy you didn't really test the tab at 44 degrees. The outside temperature was 44 degree but the tab was always inside where you were maintaining much lower temperatures.

Yeah, right, buddy!

That is the exact usage pattern for the vast majority of car users, at 44 degrees 'ambient' temperature, inside an AC car.
