The all-electric Mini is coming to India. A teaser released by the carmaker on Twitter suggests that the launch of the Mini Cooper Electric could be just around the corner.



The Mini Cooper Electric uses an electric motor that has an output of 184 BHP and 270 Nm. It is powered by a 32.6 kWh battery pack that is said to offer a range of 203-234 km on a single charge (WLTP cycle). The electric hatchback can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and has a top speed of around 150 km/h.

On the outside, the Mini Cooper Electric looks similar to the Mini hatchback. The sporty car gets funky add-ons like yellow accents on the grille, ORVMs and 17-inch corona spoke alloy wheels.

The Mini Cooper Electric comes equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. It has features such as wireless charging, head-up display, heated steering wheel and a Harman Kardon audio system.

Nice to see BMW /Mini finally waking up to EVs rolling out in India. Considering the practicality of EVs is limited to the cities as of now, Mini SE makes for a compelling product. Now its up to them to price it sanely.

Considering the low GST rates on EVs,I would expect the cost to be similar or even lesser than the ICE Cooper S. Lets see how they position it.

The Cooper SE will come to India as a CBU in a single, fully loaded variant. Only 30 units will be allotted for India in the first batch and deliveries will begin from April.

My guess is they’ll retail this at 60 - 70L just for its halo factor. Even something as vanilla as the XC40 Recharge is likely to come in at 10 - 15L over it’s ICE counterpart. We’re talking Mini Cooper here in comparison.

With just 30 units slated, this is just Mini presenting a glimpse into EV credentials. I don’t expect sane prices by any stretch. And those 30 units will be gone before you can get from 0 - 100 in the electrified Mini.

Mini has started accepting pre-bookings for the all-electric Mini Cooper SE in India. The car can be booked online by paying a token amount of Rs. 1 lakh.



The Mini Cooper SE is based on the 2-door Mini hatchback. The electric version gets yellow accents on the grille and ORVMs. The car rides on 17-inch corona spoke alloy wheels.



On the inside, the car is equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, heads-up display, heated steering wheel and a Harman Kardon audio system.

Just got an Electric Mini Cooper called as the 'SE' in the U.S.
Its a very solidly built car and has a peculiar 'go kart' feel.

I believe that the one coming to India this year will be the same since the all new version will be out only in 2023.

The all-electric Mini Cooper SE launched in India at Rs 47.20 lakh ex-showroom. It will be brought in as a CBU.

Deliveries for the first batch of 30units will start from March, while bookings for the next batch will also commence around the same time.



Powering the Cooper SE is an electric motor that produces 184hp and 270Nm of torque, drawing power from a 32.6kWh battery that’s mounted beneath the passenger seat in a T-shape.

Power is sent to the front wheels only, resulting in a 0-100kph sprint in 7.3 seconds and a top-speed of 150kph. The Cooper SE also gets four drive modes – Mid, Sport, Green and Green+.



The home charger will be an 11kW unit, while the DC fast charger is a 50kW design, which guarantees an 80% charge in 36 min. A 15 minute quick charge will give you a range of 100km.



The all-electric Cooper SE can be easily distinguished by its fluoro yellow accents, on the mirrors and wheels.



The Cooper SE is available in four colours in India – White Silver, Midnight Black, Moonwalk Grey and British Racing Green.

Mini is offering standard 2 years warranty for unlimited kilometerers with the Cooper SE.

Isn't that an amazing price for an all electric variant? An 8L premium for the electric variant isn't bad at all.

The price is great considering it is a CBU. But I do believe that the range is on the lesser side. Practical range should be around 240 KMS on a single charge considering city traffic in India.

Disappointingly low range, low power and limited space. This makes the MG ZS ev and Hyundai Kona look value for money.
