When I first heard that Citroen was coming to India, I was like these guys must have some trick up their sleeves because the market was and is cut throat. Cut to now and I now feel they entered India with no roadmap or even a gimmick or two to catch the buyers imagination. This Electric Vehicle looks spartan to say the least and thats not in a good way. If they price it dirt cheap then thats going to be a selling point but i doubt it. This is going to cost much more than what people are willing to spend on a brand that does not even have service centers in most places.

Citroen is a brand that made me understand that market research teams are a joke or frauds or both. Their market research team is fleecing them I feel. Isnt there anyone sane at their establishment to tell them that this wont work in India? I mean look at what the other EVs in this segment are offering and here we have these guys even omitting a screen, which in todays world is something anyone can source cheaply, and its much needed in an EV. Anyways I am waiting to see the price reveal as thats the only thing that can save it. God Speed

Also announces that New Citroën ë-C3 All Electric launch planned in Q1 2023, EV fast charging facility powered by Jio-bp pulse will be available across key Citroën dealerships across India.

Citreon should have showcased it at Auto Expo but still good to know its coming soon. This car, if priced well, has the potential to make citreon a household name and dent sales of Tiago.ev and Nexon.ev as well. I was waiting for TATA to atleast showcase Punch.ev but they didn't so, let's wait and watch.

Sorry, does that say 57hp???

I understand in an electric car power delivery is instant and quick, but that is a serious disappointment considering how much power the ICE-powered C3 produces.

If Citroen actually wanted to make a good cheap electric car, they could’ve simply borrowed the powertrain from the new Fiat 500. Here’s some specs:

Doesn't even seem to have automatic climate control, any reverse sensors/cameras, cruise control, regen modes, electrically adjustable (forget foldable) OVRMs, etc. This is just like its ICE counterpart - missing key features. The power delivery and 0-60 times are lower than tiago ev too. They either need to price this at least much lower than tiago ev (which seems unlikely to happen given tiago's excellent entry price point) or this is dead on arrival.

Battery is 'Naturally Cooled'. Not sure if this means a air cooled battery like the Nissan Leaf. If yes it will certainly be a problem, specially during the hot summer months.

- Citroën eC3, is the all-electric version of the compact hatch based on the new model.

- Citroën eC3 is virtually identical to its combustion equivalent.

- Inside, the main novelty is a redesigned console that has a gear selector in place of the conventional gear lever. Moreover, both the finishing panels and the padding are identical to that of the petrol model.

-Citroën eC3 is equipped with an electric motor of 57 hp and 14.5 kgfm of torque, enough to accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in 6.8 seconds and reach the maximum speed of 107 km/h.

-The power comes from a battery with 29.2 kWh of capacity produced by The Chinese SVolt, which accredits the electric hatch for a range of 320 km with a charge for the Indian cycle ARAI.

-Equipped with a 3.3 kW on-board charger, the eC3 also features CCS2 fast charging and can recharge from 10 to 80% in 57 minutes. Using the home charger, the battery can recharge 10-100% in just over 10 hours.

-Production will be concentrated in India, and from there exported to other markets, possibly Europe and even Brazil.

Oh god! I had missed this little yet crucial point. Lithium ion batteries don’t like heat, and thermal management is a large part of what differentiates a phone battery from an EV battery. Nissan Leaf was notorious for poor range and horrible battery life due to lack of liquid cooling. That was in Europe. Good luck with air cooling in hot Indian summers.

Citroen may achieve an eye catching introductory price with this move, but it may turn into a case of penny wise pound foolish.

Note that warranties are also lower than the industry standard 8year/160000km

Is there 2 charge ports on the car? I still see a fuel filler opening in the traditional space and one on the front .

Citroen is not doing it right by doing too much of a value engineering on the user touch/feel points such as the speedo console, power window buttons etc.

The car may be a well engineered car , but it needs to pull at the heartstrings of buyers too which in my opinion is not doing it too well.

Also is there a technical challenge engineering a park mode on these cars as i see it missing both on this and the Tata lower tier offerings.
