Get the Motorola MA1 wireless Android auto dongle if you use an Android phone.

Re: Hyundai Ioniq 5 Review

Hello everyone!

Been posting after ages. I recently booked the Ionic and have been given a Aug end delivery timeframe.

Couple of things which got me thinking if I should postpone my decision of picking up the car:

1. Will the 2023/24 model offered with the AR-HUD? I tested this on the EV6 and it was awesome. Would really like to have this.

2. Absence of a rear wiper, I see the 2023 Ionic's in USA are now being offered with the a rear camera which displays on the IRVM. Also, some spy shots of vehicles with the rear wiper are also coming up here and there.

Can anyone throw any light on these points?

TIA

Not specific to the Ioniq 5, but if you have not got a dashcam yet, get one from US.
Viofo, Vanture etc are really good brands and they would be around 50% less priced in US.

These 2 features are not available on the Indian model

Re: Hyundai Ioniq 5 Review

Found quite an interesting video about Ioniq 5's one pedal driving mode.

Is the same behaviour followed by Indian Ioniq 5?

Re: Hyundai Ioniq 5 Review

I've had my HI5 for a week and it definitely didn't make any noise at all until yesterday. Now its virtual engine sound is constantly on. Yesterday was also when I was tinkering with the settings a bit, which I think may have caused this.

Is there any way to turn it off?

On the same note there is this little connector by Dongar Tech that you can buy that allows you to connect the front dash cam to the supply in the IRVM. It’s a splitter basically but it’s very popular in the US, especially for Ioniq/EV6 owners. Makes installing the front cam very easy and painless and clean.

I'll rephrase my question. You guys see a possibility of the HUD & the Rear Wiper/ Camera coming up on the Year 24 model?

In that case, I'll rather hold onto my booking.

TIA

The HUD was already an option overseas, but they still omitted it from the Indian release. So I doubt they will bring that.

Rear Camera in IRVM might come but there are no guarantees (example: Hyundai refusing to bring the kona facelift to India)

Re: Hyundai Ioniq 5 Review

Was anyone able to source the floor mats for the car from anywhere? Or are there some generic/universal mats that fit this car reasonably?

I know this is off-topic, but any idea why Hyundai are not bringing the Kona facelift to India?

Yes. The new mats from Hyundai account for the issue with the centre console. Got them last weekend from the dealership.
