I agree, it was so dark so I increased ISO as much I could.
How is this?

Better, it looks like night now. It may be still overexposed, see the sky. What you need to do in such situations is spot metering.

Hey I am no photographer but i love this photograph of my buddy , i clicked yesterday morning while he was waiting for me to put on my shoes to take him for his morning walk. He has that look. "Come on dude , Hurry up"

One from the 'Pelican in action' series, shot in a natural park on a rare day with some light behind.

I usually don't shoot birds, but on my way back from Wayanad (interesting trip, saw a tiger near Thirunelli temple), I took a break at Ranganathittu to practice some PIF :)

Nice shots, loved the second one the most- wonderful lighting, mood and bokeh !
My keeper rate, in terms of sharpness, has been nearly 100 % with 200-500 f5.6. But I am not getting to shoot these days. It’s cold, dark and wet here, hitting 2 C yesterday. Will wait for more additions from you on various forums.:)
BTW, when I visited Ranganthittu a few months back [ in July I guess], couldn’t spot a single Pelican and the sanctuary looked dry, off season I guess.

Thanks, I like the second shot too.

A shot just before sunset. Last rays of the sun hit a U of whiskered terns (a group of terns is called a U, I came to know) as they fly over dark water. Consciously underexposed.

Lovely bird shots. These are tiny and erratic and are often difficult to capture.Loved the bokeh too. If shot in not so harsh lights, the colours and contrast would have come out even better, I guess.
Please do share more. :)

Keep the ISO at 100, f/13, 30s, manual focus set to infinity and use a remote shutter, goes without saying use a tripod.
