my guess is ulsoor lake. That's usually used by Madras sappers to train/row. Might not be allowed for everyone.

Yep, it's the Ulsoor Lake. MEG and the Home Guards train there; not sure if civilians are allowed.

Ulsoor was my first guess too, and was hoping that it was some other place where civilians were allowed. Trishna Club there used to allow civilians to paddle there but I hear that it is no longer possible.
Going beyond 1:1 magnification ratio - super macro territory.
A worm of ~2 cms. Hand-held shots, 12 of them stacked.
Cattle Egret in flight, this morning, Nikon D610+Tamron 150-600mm>>
One more super-macro shot, a tiny Grass Spider from the garden.

The originals are quite sharp, though they might appear a little fuzzy after resizing of the original jpegs :-) Better versions here

Crested kingfisher. Shot after stalking it for more than an hour on a rocky Himalayan river bed. Getting stung by nettles, jumping from rock to rock.
Dhikala grasslands, Corbett. Monochrome.
Male kalij pheasant. Kumaon.
Elephants. Golden light. Underexposed, a little rim light.
The rarely encountered brown dipper having a dip. Himalayan stream, shot after careful stalking.

Dessert after a nice New Year's lunch at Toast & Tonic:
Shot on iPhone X with the Camera+ app in macro mode and edited in Snapseed.
This week's macro from my garden :)

That's one spectacular looking caterpillar! Almost looks as though it is carrying a colorful blanket.
Thanks, clevermax.
God is in the detail :)
Namagiri thayar alangaram, Brahmotsavam @ Sri Ananthapadmanabhaswamy Temple, Adyar, Chennai. Nikon D610 + Nikkor 24-120mm f/4 VR, 75mm, f/4, 1/125s, ISO 720. Taken this morning. Click on the image and relish the resplendent decoration of the diety.
I went on a workshop Filters yesterday on the Dutch coast. Used a very nice Benro filterset. I have just ordered myself one as I would like to experiment some more.
All three are taken with a polariser, 2 stop soft graduated and a ND6 filter. Shutter speed around 10 seconds which makes for the special look of the water.
The sea was already very calm, you tend to get even nicer results with waves and foam on the water. Not necessarily my best images, but it takes quite a bit of experience and experimenting to get everything right when you start using these sort filters.
As it was quite a bright day I had to use the lowest ISO setting, high diaphragm, low shutter speeds, so all shots taken on a tripod with stability system switched off. I have been experimenting a bit with DOV using hyperlocal manual focus on my lens as well.
I have some ideas about my next photographic project for the RPS and it is very much about landscapes, so for the next couple of weeks I will be trying out some more techniques, possibly some additional kit, that would be useful.

Mist. Winter. Dawn. I increasingly prefer moody shots. Unless the light or atmosphere is interesting, sometimes it is not worth processing. Though most folks prefer photos that are contrasty and saturated. Btw these photos are sharp too, but they don't appear so here, after downsizing a couple of times from a JPEG.
Dalmatian pelican in the mist
Misty winter mornng in Corbett National Park. Monochrome.
Darter aka snakebird. Shot before sunrise.
Unless it is a gorgeous tigress. Big cats exempted. Haven't managed to fall out of love yet :-)
Many travelogues pending. Need to take out time and start a few new threads.

Great image. I haven,t done much monichrome, but when I do it is usually similar things, misty landscapes are really nice in monochrome and or B&W. Sometimes they can become quite spooky and or moody, suits it.
