Many thanks, Navin! I bought the Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 just for this trip and it delivered as expected. But just after I bought this lens, Tamron has released a new iteration of the same lens, making mine obsolete in a few months time. :)
Some shots from the backyard: Nikon D610 + Tamron 150-600mmm: Female Shikra, Indian Pond heron in flight above, Contrails jet above 25000 ft directly overhead, Squirrel, Air Asia Airbus A320 on a cloudy backdrop all hand held shots with the above cam lens combo.

Some photos taken taken on various occasions - (Canon 550D and either the kit lens or the canon EF 70-200). Most places I have used no filters. All hand-held - Diwali Flowerpot; A Lion at the Bannerghatta NP; Sky at the Sunderbans; A water falls in Kerala trying recollect the name (will update when I do): |
Superb collage, Miyata! Definitely a great start to my day! Loved the detail of the lion's mane.

Thanks, Shashanka. On that family trip to the Bannerghatta NP, we all felt the animals were not too well taken care of - they looked rather worn out, weak, and if I didn't know any better - possibly a bit drugged too! Hope I am wrong though.
Playing around with manual mode of my phone's camera. The results I feel are pretty decent, given that I do not know much about photography (read ISO, white balance, exposure, etc are Greek and Latin right now)
Just before sunset...

See you tomorrow

Beautiful lily! Is the Tamron ver 1 or 2? How good is the AF?
Here's one from my Sigma 150-600

Thank you, Navin, excellent frame and landscape image. Mine is a version 1, AF is average (it hasn't aged well) AF-C isn't working so I use only AF-A. I stop down to 7.1 usually. Nikon 200-500 wasn't there when I bought this and it was the only budget 600 mm lens way back in 2014.
Abandoned honeycomb in the core of dead tree trunk.
The trunk fell, and broke at this point to reveal the hive. This is the bottom-view of the honeycomb.

Smooching squirrels and a Pelican pair hovering above..
Haha. You've captured a story. All pairs day! One is eloping away while other will soon follow suit. Nice one - very lively neighborhood you live in.
Got to spend some serious time with my gear last week. One of my students in action

One of my recent clicks. I loved this one, so i got it printed and framed.
