What scanner do you use.....does the scanner affect the quality?

Nikon Coolscan 8000ED. Not mine.
My standard instruction is flat scan without any correction. Yes, scanners do make a big difference.

well I made it a little more brighter and increased the saturation to some level
also fiddled with the Selective Color tool
