If you're shooting raw then this shot is properly exposed according to me.

I may be wrong however.

Aperture priority would mean you are trying to control the D-o-F, while the camera adjusts everything else to the set aperture. Try adjusting exposure compensation to get the correct exposure - may be by using bracketing function. Else you may have to go the manual mode.

Excellent Timing and angle... Makes it look like an Aircraft...
Beautiful picture...clap:

I used to shoot in Manual mode. But I was advised to shoot in Apature mode/Exposure mode to avoid making my life complicated so I started off using these modes but am not at all satisfied so am gonna switch back to Manual Mode .

Thanks for the suggestion :D

I too use aperture priority all the time. I use manual only in case of spot metering since I don't want change my EC setting for every shot.

Some from me. These were taken a few years ago on a Powershot S45. I always thought my next camera would be an EOS 1D or the likes but I committed blasphemy and went to the SD800 IS. So compositions like these are becoming rare.

Panorama created using 4 pictures in Photoshop and used "Auto Levels" to make it bit better. Clicked all 4 pictures in Manual Mode.

Was a 15 sec exposure and the camera shook. I lost patience and this is what I ended up with.

You lost patience after 15 sec!
I normally lose patience after 10 minutes pass.
Note to self : Take a 30 minute shot without getting bored.

Thanks the cyclone at Chennai, the weather at my place is very different. Today I could see the entire range of western ghats from my home, these are shot from my terrace.

Now some ground shot:
