don't try that handheld. Even with IS on you may find yourself with a blurry photograph

I was referring to Olympus make remote.
I know Samu ji. I also first foolishly spent 25$ on canon wireless remote. In case of cable release I was wise and opted for the 4$ wired remote

Yes....even i have a wireless / useless remote. I wonder what Olympus was thinking when they decided NOT to have a wired remote for E500 and other models.

SKS, amazing pictures. Which camera did you use? How could you get so close to the birds? Long zoom lens?

Thanks. Camera used was an old Canon 350D (yeah old coz there are 2 models after that ). More importantly the lens used was Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 (cant get same effect on a kit lens).

Amazingly the birds were pretty steady and still for the shots. So I could get close to shoot them. Pictures were taken at 75mm so no long zoom (was missing them when clicking these though).

Its not about the cost. Even with this, you need to be in front of the camera.

Wired remote for E500 and later models is something Olympus FORGOT to make.

I do use something wireless that doesnt need me to stay in line of sight. Its radio based and made in china.

Cost me 2k INR but works fine. Hmmm come to think of it, this discussion belongs more the digital camera thread than this!

here is a shot from london aquarium. waited for the fish to form a halo around the stone head.I think I shot over 30 pics of the same scene before I got this.
its a nice place to visit, but disappointing to photograph. movement and low light conditions dont mix well.
