Hi,
I joined TBHP recently, thought it was only about vehicles and travelogues till I saw this forum. So many talented photographers with sound technical knowledge. Looking forward to learn from you all.
Below are a few snaps taken in Andaman. Kindly give your opinion. How do I get rid of the bright spots when it is partly sunny?
@hellwrath - you had mentioned this site
Digital Photography Tips and Tutorials in the other DSLR forum. Is this a good place to start learning?

Here is an image from a low cost point and shoot (my 5 year old's new asset) !
Ask me what one feels when using a P&S after being familiar with a DSLR = Hopeless :D

I have edited one of your pictures to show a composition that I would have liked. I am not sure if such a composition was possible at the place. But looked like a place with a lot of potential (even your other pictures). Hope you don't mind.
Modified Image (done in about 5 minutes)
And the original

I think HDR should help. I have never used this technique but I think this is what people use in such situations.

kaushik_s, Lovely capture. A great wallpaper!
Here's one I took this Sunday:

Blue pulsar, Nice capture. I think its Stellers Jay. Where did you take this?

Thanks for your comment and thanks for naming the species of the bird. I captured this in
Big Basin Redwoods State Park. More photos to follow from this beautiful park.
:)
Here's a Blue bird and Steller's Jay I captured at Greer, AZ. Couldn't get a sharp image of the Steller because it was windy and the snow was blowing crazy.

The one I captured was as if it was posing for me. It was like that for a short time, say around 30-45sec, but long enough for me to take the shot. Normally this bird will be pretty restless, atleast the previous instances I tried to take a shot of the bird of same species. And the best part, I could take the shot with at 105mm (18-105mm).
I like that bird. My fave colors - blue and black.

You got real lucky to get him at 108mm! I had to zoom all the way to 400mm for both the shots.
Thank you Biju. Yes, your composition looks better :) It brings out all the elements in the right propotion and the feel is better,

Nice pictures Abhijit. The last one looks like a painting.
I feel the first picture would have looked better and more balanced if you could have got more of the ocean (like a panoramic or wide angle shot). An edited version (amateurish attempt) of your picture is below. This is just my opinion.

@abhijit: Lovely shots. I think you could have got a good one of the bridge too (the one that is hidden in the first one). The second one has lovely colours and depth of field. In the last one I feel that the boat could have been on the left.
