re: PC & Console games - Discussion Thread

So I just finished playing Metro: Last Light and I enjoyed it a lot. The atmosphere it encompasses is something not less than eerie and downright creepy but this is what keeps me going. Haven't played the prequel Metro 2033 but give this game a try. So good is the game that when it came out in 2013, it didn't have a multiplayer mode since the devs wanted an immersive single player experience. Anyone into Indie games here? I loved mark of the ninja

Loads of us actually. So you loved Mark of the Ninja, have you played Shank and Shank 2 from the same developer? You should if you love 2D side scrolling with a bit of beat 'em up. Try to rope in a partner so you can have some co-op fun as well.

Do browse back a few pages. There are some indie titles mentioned. Trine, Trine 2, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Limbo (must-play!), Bastion, Papo & Yo (another must-play!), Guacamelee! etc.

If you liked Metro: Last Light, you should probably try the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. Folks from 4A Games worked as the developers of the stalker titles. This is a brilliant brilliant FPS RPG title. The post-apocalyptic Chernobyl atmosphere is INTENSE! And addictive like hell. The Metro titles wouldn't hold a candle to these. I'll be honest.

Far cry4 is really good. I finished the game. The story takes place near Himalayas and most of the names are Indian names and it keeps us interested. Radio plays indian songs.
Bell tower, outpost , fortress. Good Improvement over far cry 3. Nice weapons.
Going play the campaign once again from scratch. There is a situation during the game where you have to side with one of two persons named Sabal and Amita. Also in the end i didnt kill the boss. So, makes me play once again to choose different scenarios.

Thanks for your recco again on Papa & Yo. Loved the game. Though I guessed quite correctly what the "monster" actually was in the game, the ending was still....

Played Limbo some months back. Wow, wow what a game! Killer. One of the best game experiences I have EVER had!

Got Trine2 on the sale on Steam. Installed. Tried, but yet to play. Interesting graphics.

Also bought Far Cry 2 some months back on sale. Playing that now.

Trine 2 has some interesting puzzles. My co-op partner used to figure out some of them sooner than I did! It was fun.

I couldn't play Far Cry 2 for long. I did not quite like the yellowish nausea-inducing environments! Gave up, reinstalled the game after a couple of years only to give up again!

That said, Far Cry 3 was amazing. So much to explore! I did most of the side missions and completed the main story after I got bored. The standalone expansion for FC 3 - Blood Dragon was a blast from the past! Michael Biehn's voice acting, music from the '80s, futuristic setting and arsenal, the works.

Another laugh-riot! Hordes of enemies on the screen, Sam and his arsenal - what fun! I use a classic trick when I have the cannon and sufficient ammo. Run around the place with all the enemies behind my back, turn around, fire the cannon and watch the mayhem! So much fun.

Croteam is working on the next one I heard.

GTA 5 is the best game ever created. After playing gta, all other games seem very boring. Gta online also beats every other online game.
I have been playing it for almost a year and a half and never even thought of buying another game.

The new patch has made D3 playable again after a few months of boredom. A higher slab of legendary items, better goblins et all

Just finished Far Cry 4. A lot better than FC3 but the basic idea behind the game is the same. A lot of Hindi bad language but the locale and graphics is very very good. And the open world is huge!

re: PC & Console games - Discussion Thread

Well, I've played so many games off late because my exams got over that I do literally nothing but sit at home and play play play! The list of games I've played and finished in the recent past :

1) Dishonored : what a game, this one tops my list. Finished the DLC's too!
2)F1 2013: Good immersive feel(clocked in about 60 hours)
3)Skyrim : still play, installed a ton of mods (easily clocked in about 300 hours), of course, you can never finish skyrim :-D
4)Euro truck simulator 2: this one is for when I'm extremely bored so I relax and cruise on the highways and enjoy the lovely scenery with mods
5)dark souls 1 & 2: I cannot emphasize how frustrating this game is, I've never rage quitted as much as I have in this game than in any other game. Yet it is addictive.
6)Half Life episode 2: yet another brilliant FPS from valve.
7)Outlast : gives me the creeps.
8) Metro 2033/last light : most immersive FPS I have ever played
9)S.T.A.L.K.E.R series : immersive yet again.
10)Hitman Absolution : I started playing this quite late but I loved it nevertheless. Short story line.
11)far cry 3: still play sometimes but it's gotten a little boring.
12)assassin's Creed 3: okay okay, honestly, I've given up on the AC series after this game. Not as immersive as its predecessors.
13)Grid 2: best arcade driving game ever, of course, after Most wanted (the old one) :-D
14)Driver San Francisco : loved the humour involved, liked the driving physics.
15)battlefield 4: short story line but quite impressive. Been a fan of the battlefield series.
16) Batman arkham city : lovely arcade game, best of the batman lot. Didn't really like arkham origins.
17)The walking dead season 1 & 2: loved the first season, second season wasn't as appealing.
18)company of heroes 2: quite an impressive RTS game, initially addictive then it kinda gets repetitive.
19)the Sims 3: yes, I still play this. The new one is apparently terrible.
20)Dota 2: arguably the most played online game of mine. I flunked an exam because of this.

I've got way more but that's for another day. Anyone recommends any good rally style arcade racer? I've heard RBR is pretty good but it's quite old now. dirt 3 maybe?
