TSK, I must say that your shots are excellent, and the kit you have is not very expensive.

Many people think that good photography needs high-end DSLRs and expensive lenses! Which cannot be farther from the truth!

Thanks proxima, but I actually think my photography is pretty average

Just wanted to share this..I went to B&H last evening, it was always a dream to visit B&H, probably the best photography store in the planet. I was awe-struck by the sheer variety of products you can check out. Hope a store like B&H is opened in India pretty soon!

Now B&H is something which is like a dream come true for every photography enthusiast. I could spend a week in this store and not miss food.
I wish they open up one in Delhi. After all staples is here, why not B&H!

Tanveer you have got a lovely collection of photos over there !! It shows the kind of interest and time you dedicate on this. Its an inspiration.

If B&H opens up in India (whichever city it is), I might take a 5 days OFF only to hang around there ! I have high opinions about them as an online retailer from the day I got my 35mm prime. Their service is par excellence !

I think they have only one store location, i.e. in new york. rest of all their business is online.

@robinmahanta, do they still have conveyors that drop the merchandise right beside the selling agent? it seems we are in a factory with stuff moving all around.

How good is the Tamron 200-500 lens?

Thanks TSK1979 and Clevermax , I asked for tips of shooting at long end.
Increased shutter speed and ISO and worked well.
took a pic of flying eagle with same Sigma APO DG at 300 mm Shutter speed 1/800 F8.0 , ISO 800 hand held

PS :T-BHP puts a limit of 1 MB on jpg so unable to upload the image

Resize the image using some software(I use Irfanview) and post it !

Thanks TSK.

recieved the canon bag via bluedart yesterday. the bag is so small, i cant put the camera with the lens attached on it.

PS: this was thru canonedge, and the bag is NOT a V shaped bag.

Hi friends:

Another query related to laluks question? Is the Nikkor 70-300mm VR any good for wildlife including acceptable birding.

I wanted to procure this lens as my 18-105 lens is definitely short for wildlife. The decision is primarily driven by cost factor, however if this lens is short for even basic wildlife and birding, I might save up for something more expensive later on.

Thanks!
Projjal

Fatboy, any lens less than 500mm is too short for birding or decent wildlife ! My plan was to get the 150-500 sigma but later I had an after-thought. First, there was not many claiming a perfect shot through the Nikon+sigma 150-500 pair, second, I asked myself, 'How often I would carry that tele and walk around?'. I came to a compromise with the 70-300 VR and I am happy so far. You will find plenty of my photos with this lens posted in the non-auto image thread. Its also a very good portrait lens as the range starts from 70mm. I also managed to get very decent macros of spiders etc. with this lens with the 300mm put on manual mode.
