If you dont have invoice then how do you establish that its only 8 months old. Anyways, it all depends on the bargaining. If the lens is as good as new, it should be around 7-8k.

TaureanBull, I know its only 8 months old coz it belongs to a friend, he got it from US in Feb this year. Somehow can't seem to find the bill now! So..

Had been to the Canon class yesterday. Good intro, but many topics were already known. Hence for non-techies it works very well.

Playing around with various ISO settings. But still the big one remains:
Aperture and shutter speed. Need to get a feel for numbers in this territory.

Exactly. Right handed shooters should lock their left arm under the lens and against their body (torso). Now the right hand can depress the shutter with less shake.

The guys at the canon class suggested a Sony tripod for a budget under 2K. :)

A Vivitar tripod, the biggest one which costs 1400 INR is heavier and sturdier than the flimsy 1600rs Sony tripod. I would take their suggestions with a pinch of salt
