And thanks for the link! :)

You're welcome.
Mine is a Class4 too. Funny, I got the Lexar. I was thinking Nikon would purchase SD memory wholesale and rebrand it before packaging it. Like they did with the complimentary bag , which is pretty good, IMO.
Why would they pick up Sandisk and Lexar and not rebrand it?

Just checked with my supplier.
He's got the Canon 550D with kit lens (bill and manufacturer's warranty) @ Rs. 42,500.
Let me know if you want me to hook you up.
:)

its best to buy transcend SD cards. class 6 8GB is 1100, and class 4 is 800ish!

Thanks for the clarification and the links, ghpk! :)

@nitrous: I agree, the bag is pretty good, in fact I had not expected it! Was in for a welcome surprise! :)
About the card, even I am surprised that Nikon doesn't re-brand them!! As of now, its performing fairly well, no issues. Haven't tried HD video recording yet.

@phamilyman: are these rates online prices or street prices? and which city? initially i wanted a class6 16gb, couldn't get one from the seller I got the cam, no stock! :(

At higher ISOs they have slightly worse noise performance, and very long exposures are usually limited to 4 minutes.
Other than that, they offer more value and are more convenient than normal APS-C cameras.

If you do intend to go for a micro 4/3, I would recommend Panasonic

Panasonics are too pricey - landing them up right at DSLR range (>30 K)

Olympus PENs are more easy on pockets.

Anyway - I am still torn as to get a ~10-15x travel zoom (easy, comfy, WAF, zoom, price, macro)
or entry level DSLR (configurable and controllable, better sensor, better low light and exposures, more hobby provoking, more bokeh)

Of course both are totally different genres, at different price points.
LOL, this is human mind at work.
:D

Thanks Nitrous, will touch base when ready for the kill !

This might have been discussed earlier but I couldn't locate the relevant posts.

Can anyone from Mumbai suggest any place which buys old SLR lenses in exchange for new ones? I intend to dispose off my 18-55 Non IS Canon lens in exchange for an IS version or any other. Can someone help?

Currently I am using a G type lens from my old N55, the prime lens that I got from US is in Delhi, which I will get over the weekend, I will then post an exhaustive review of the camera along with the unboxing video.

I know I was just kidding. My son had one too some years ago.
The 100/2.8 macro is an excellent lens. On a FF (5D etc..) it is simply killer. on a APS-C it is slightly overkill and I like the 60/2.8 as a more VFM option.

Pawan, I always thought you had an everlasting craze for landscape photography as mentioned in many of your posts. Now you are getting a macro ? Anyway, I am waiting to count the legs and parts of German bugs and flies :). You also have a wide angle right ? I remember a mention of Tokina 11-16, so which one did you get earlier ?

Your memory is awasome. For now, I dropped a plan to buy wide angle, yesterday I ordered my macro lens and tomorrow I will get it. Within germany amazon delivers most of the time the next day. And next buy is Canon 7D, if budget permits I will go for Canon 5d Mark2 for its full frame capability. Also I am not happy with Canon 55-250 IS, it needs too much of light, planning to put it on ebay.

Are you getting that new 2.8L lens? What price you're getting it for?
