Guys, Recently on my last vacation I experienced a strange issue in D5100. Even if flash is popped-up, it shows in info (? mark near flash in view finder) that subject is too dark and also no flash getting was fired while capture. Behavior is same for various modes like auto, P, A etc.
After returning from trip I googled and tried troubles shooting issue. Whenever flash is popped-up, and if I push popped-up flash bit more upward, Viola.. flash started working as normal. Now this I need to do every-time whenever flash is popped-up again. This seems like spring pushing flash upward got loose. Any idea how to handle this issue? Just for this issue, is my camera need to visit Nikon service? Is there any DIY fix for this?
Appreciate any help on this regard.
Have a basic question on the DSLR. Can we use the Lenses from my EOS 300 film SLRs? I have 2 lenses if I remember right (its packed and stored somewhere safely in the cupboard) its a 28-80 USM, and another zoom not sure if its 250 or 300.

Yes the EOS cameras has EF mount which is compatible with their digital cameras.

@Aroy, Thanks, thats some good news, so I can look at getting just the body and use the existing lenses.
Yes but you won't get auto focus. Focusing manually on a split focusing ring is one thing but without that it is completely different. Unless you get it perfect, it can ruin your shots quite easily.

No idea of Canons, but all my Nikons - D70, D300 and D3300 have a "Range Finder" visible in the view finder. You adjust the focus till the range finder bars are centered. As I have minus power and even with my glasses and diopter adjustment in the camera, my focus and cameras do not match, and that is where the range finder helps.

Canon EOS film cameras were with AF mechanism so should work. I used an an EOS rebel film camera around 2002
EOS film was somewhat DSLR like but with a film.

It was being sold for ~8k. Is it even cheaper now?
Is it worth picking up a 2 year old Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR for about 10k . I plan to use it with my D3100 .
How is the picture quality of the same ? Kindly advise.

What is current price and what was old price?
Flipkart?
I have been following this lense for the last 2 years.
Never saw the price lower than 12 or 12.5 anywhere.
But suddenly the prices drop on almost all websites. So i got the lense from snapdeal for 7700 with a 10% cashback for AMEX credit cards. This was the lowest I could find.
Regards
Rachit.

Picture quality is good. Not sure about the condition of the lens being sold. It's a good, middle-of-the-table lens. I'm selling mine (brand-new) since I've moved to the 35mm prime.
