Guys, I'm looking for an online tool / software, which helps me create videos by combining pictures, powerpoint slides, with light music in the background. The video would be like a tutorial for technical topics. Any suggestions for the same? Looking for a free tool, for time being.

Thanks in advance!

Spike
If you are going to use only the powerpoint slides for the video, it would be easier to use Powerpoint itself to create the video. A good a free software I would suggest is Hitfilm Express for just a little more than basic editing.

Check out Active Presenter. That's the best for making explainer videos with power point slides and software simulation.

One alternative approach is to do the entire thing on your Mobile / Tablet.

There's a phenomenal choice of apps out there, which quite frankly make the whole process way easier than trying to do it on a desktop software.

GoPro Quik is a good one for making fun videos -- but not sure it's ideal for your use case.

I would like to create a youtube channel where I would post mini vlogs. I need a video editor with several useful features. What software could you recommend?

You could use DaVinci Resolve. It has some learning curve, but you will soon master it for basic editing etc and later can go for more powerful editing as well. The best thing is that it's free version is almost as powerful as the studio version.

DaVinci Resolve is a great video editor. I've tried Filmora, Shotcut and a couple of other free editors. For me, none of them offered the freedom and flexibility that DaVinci Resolve gave. The UI requires some dedicated hours of learning, but I wouldn't say it is complicated. Once you figure out the capabilities and features, you'd begin to appreciate why they have designed the workflows in those specific ways.

I've been putting some learning hours into this tool. Since I have quite a good understanding of how editing is done in Adobe Photoshop, I totally understand the layer/node concepts and it was easier for me to learn this tool, at least the essentials required to do basic post processing, LUTs, and animations.

Here is a teaser video I made, that shows how a raw footage from my action camera, captured in manual exposure mode with flat colors, is transformed into a surreal-looking clip.

sort-of ashamed to say that I have never even moved the stills/video switch on my Sony a7iv away from stills! Post-processing images (I use darktable), whilst very satisfying, is more than enough time-consuming work without trying video.

But I'll watch your youtube video. Thanks: it will be very interesting to see how you handle the basics in what I know to be a very high-powered professional video package.

If you're looking for an easy way to create tutorial videos with images, slides, and background music, you might want to check out Movavi Video Editor. It’s simple to use, even if you’re not experienced with video editing, and has all the essential features like transitions, text overlays, and audio mixing. I’ve used it before for putting together training videos, and it worked out great without much hassle.

Also, if you ever need to convert images into different formats before adding them to your videos, this JPEG converter also from Movavi can help. It’s useful for adjusting image quality and format without losing clarity. Check it on https://www.movavi.com/image-convert...converter.html.
