Your suggestions are most welcome.

YOU SEEM TO BE MORE OF INTEL INFLUENCED,

so go in for some options i mentioned just above in the other post ,

as for the dvd writer : lite on 16x ( no lite on) 2k or a sony but i think lite on does great.

monitor - is your descretion i find flat crt good value option . lg, samsung or view sonic are good ones to buy .

hdd : SEAGATE SATA 7200 RPM 250 GB IS A GOOD VALUE OPTION 320 is you gonna really fill it up.

graphic card . if you going in with a intel d102 or something they come in with shared ati graphic's , but if you a gamer which does not seem to you can go on for ATI i find them good , nvdia is also a equally good option just like buyin a ADIDAS AND NIKE shoe for me in this case.

ram : 1 gb DDR / DDR2 depending are good. transend , twin mos , kingston are good brands.

hey 200mph.. man, thanks a lot !! you just saved a lot of my time !! well, the upgrade plan is postponed to December last week .. but this is very useful. Thanks a tonne !!!

@Mugen Power ---- Whatever your needs Intel Core 2 Duo is the way to go....

Nothing else.

AMd is getting kicked right now. The E 6300 (the slowest C2D beats more expensive AMD X2 CPUs).

I suggest you go for the E6300, Gigabyte DS3 or S3 mobo + 1 GB DDR2 533 RAM and a decent GPU like 7600GT. Will be a kickass rig.

from the last one month this my PC is giving me headaches....

first I got the MSI K9 Ultra.....it had a problem that while writting DVD the PC shut down I got the MB replace and the new board again behaved the same way then I searched the net for the cause....and what i found...

MSI K9N mobos suffer random shutdowns

it had some hardware fault the I got he ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe....from the first day it had some BIOS problem...when I power on the PC the boot cycle could not complete again searching on the net it had some bios update issue.....but on the site they say update it to 503 version but they have nothing above 306 and 404 beta version....ok but the pc ran for a week with some problems but then the MB got dead without any reason....

now got the M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless edition....it now the pc is running from the last 5 days non stop without any problem.....

Thanks for reply..
Rsj, 200mph, nikhil..

I am not a hardcore gamer but will play IGI,IGI2, NFS Series and some action games..

(1) what is the difference in Intel Core 2 Duo and Dual Core ??

(2) What is the difference in DDR and DDR2 ??

(3) Which Nvidia ?? How much MB ??

(4) I have Seagate 200 GB HDD in usb casing so i will use it without casing.

(5) I will go for 15'' so which brand CRT ?

the core 2 duo is the latest offering from intel and it is fastest in the market...go for it ....

DDR and DDR2 are ram standards....the main difference will be clock speed and timings....

It will all depend how much you spend...the 7600gt will be the best bang for the buck....it is for 12 to 13k....but the best one will be 7900gt for 18k...
the 8800 gtx is also avalable for 39k.....all of them will be having 256 mb ram with some of them will have 512 also...

get a 17 inch screen the 15 inch is not recommend...the 17 inch flat crt will be for 5 to 6 k....

the GPU is a graphic processer....

the PCU ....it would PSU....or Power supply unit...go for a good brand not a local make...in delhi the coolmaster entry level 380 watts is for 1k only....

there is a small bench mark for the GPU comparison of 7600gt and 7900gt..
Tom's Hardware Guide Processors: VGA Charts

guys since I have a 7900gt gfx card and since I got the sli MB should I go for a second 7900gt card or should I get the 8800gts... as the 8800 is dx10 ready where as the 7900 is not

I dont know if this is the thread to discuss this.

Mugen, dont get a 15" CRT. That's almost obsolete now. Either make it an LCD or stick with atleast a 17" CRT. Monitor is what goes for the last upgrade in a computer. So when you're going to buy a new one, make it the best you can afford.

agree:

100% agreed and what I was trying to say....

The 8800GTX has 768 MB of RAM !! Not 512 MB.

MB doesnt make too much of a difference. I mean, the card as a whole is more important than saying you have a card with 128MB or 256 MB.

For example, the 6600 GT has 128 MB RAM but it totally and comprehensively beats the 6600 (vanilla version) 256 MB or older cards of 256 MB like 5700, 5900.

Dont get caught up with the amount of RAM on your GPU

8800 For 39k :Shockked:.

So what is the difference in CRT and LCD ? CRT is Monitor and LCD is screen or what ??stupid:

Any other VFM to consider with 7600gt ??

Which Core 2 Duo ? 6300 or 6400 ? Which motherboard ?

Mods.. If these discuss is wrong on this thread plz make a new thread.

Thanks,
Mugen_Power.

CRT

LCD

CRT is yesterday and LCD is now

Yes CRT is now outdated so i will go for LCD screen.

Which LCD should i have to buy ? 15'' or 17'' ? Samsung or Sony ? If possible give me rates also.

Cheers,
Mugen_Power.

I bought a sony 17" lcd around 6 months ago from lamington road for 13.5k. It includeds a 3 year warranty. The picture is good but not really the best. However the design and build quality is unbeatable

Go in for atleast 17" or maybe even 19 if you can.... Dont get a 15"

1. Intel Core 2 Duo is the latest series of Dual core processors from Intel. Actually its the only dual core from Intel worth considering! Other offerings which are generally available in India are: Pentium D & Intel Core duo. Both are a flop. Core 2 duo is good because both the cores are made from the same silicon wafer. AMD X2 is also a good option if you are looking out for a VFM deal.

2. DDR and DDR2 are two different technologies for RAM. You can have memory speeds of 266,333,400 MHz in DDR RAM and 400, 533, 667, 675, 800 MHz in case of DDR2 RAM. Bottomline is... go for DDR2 ram :)

3. Go for anything that suits your budget in 7XXXX series.. Be it 7300, 7600, 7800 remember it will always be better to go for the GT editions.
I would recommend one time graphic card buyers to wait. Cards with DirectX10 support are coming(like 8800) let them get cheaper in say 6 months. it would be worth the wait.

5. If you have decided on CRT, go for any good brand but prefer the flatscreen CRTs(Atleast Samsung and LG have them). They will be priced 1K more than the normal ones but will be worth the money spent.
