Myself, Csentil and Selective are planning to go to Devi anybody willing to Join

Me and kvenkatt are going today to the Panasonic showroom and Devi's to check on the prices. We'll most probably decide where we are going to buy today. Modernworld is not ready to negotiate below 60K as of now.

csenthil and kvenkatt, can you let us know what time you will be there at Devi's? I am assuming that, it will be around 6:30PM today.

i have a SAMSUNG 24 INCH LCD. i have to say that it has the WORST sound system ever. it has a screen full of equiliser & stuff but my old 21 inch ONIDA IQ (non lcd) made the glasses shiver. i had to spend 36000 buks for it & is a year old. the picture quality is good, not fantastic.

How would 40" Plasma/LCD compare with 29" flat screen TV in terms of power consumption?
I run a music system, worldspace receiver, 29" TV, Tatasky set top box and home theatre system off the same line and I want to ensure that the power supply won't crash if I upgrade the TV to Plasma/LCD.
And yeah, often most of the components are on at the same time... worldspace playing on the music system and TV showing soaps with sound muted :)

I believe the Panasonic plasma consumes about 350 watts which is about 1.5amps, tatasky STB and WS receiver won't consume much may be about 50 w put together that leaves us with your music system - unless you run a high powered audio with SUBs and multiple amps, your normal 5 Amps socket should just be fine. Please double check the power rating before connecting.

hi guys
after reading the whole thread i have zeroed on 42"pv80 plasma.
here in my place there is only one panasonic out let, they quote a price of 60k.
i have few doubts.
1)will the heat emission from the plasma be significant.will the room get heated.
2)sould a/c be switched on always while viewing.
3)can i go for pv8 and get hdmi adapters from grey market
4)will 6 ft be sufficient viewing distance
thanks in advance

1) you are joking right its tv not a heater and 2) to make things clear I don't have an AC in my room and at times even the fan is not on and to make things more hot - I have two ps3s running and a home theatre system running too along with the plasma - can't make omlettes yet :uncontrol on a serious note plasmas don't run as hot as you thing they do!!

3) pv8 has hdmi connector already, however not as many as the pv80

4) 6ft - 9ft is fine :)
