Charging my phone via laptop or PC

Hi,

I am using a lot of mobile internet now days as i m going out of town every 4 - 5 days. Its a pain to charge laptop and mobile at same times as at some places 2 points are not available etc. Though now i dont use bluetooth and use data cable to do net but still the net works for like max 4 hours. So is there a way i can charge my mobile via my laptop. I know there is a USB cable but i am not able to find it for my N70

if its got a mini USB connector, it must charge via USB from laptop.
My old nokia 6708 as well as my current imate JAQ3 are both charged using USB from my laptop/PC.

on the other hand, my motorola razr had a mini USB but would not charge when connected via laptop. same port used by it's own charger worked though.

hmmm. sony ericssons do charge via the USB port. In fact they have two nicely coined terms for this. The USB charging which starts happening the moment your phone is hooked onto the laptops USB port is called Trickle Charge. This is slower but works nonetheless. The regular charging which is much faster is called Optimized Charging.

there are USB chargers available for phones . They are chinese made though and can charge phones ranging from Nokia to LG ( 5V +- .5) . Phones having mini USB usually get charged when they are docked with the PC/Lappy except for some Nokia phones.

hi abhibh

it is not possible to charge any of the nokia phones through the laptop.
nokia did release a laptop pod where u can connect it via usb.

it charges the phone as well as uses the phone as data storage
but i was not able to find this product.

alas, only sonyericcson and motorola have this feature of dual enc

oh yea i also forgot the new nokia 6300 has this new feature and all the new phones will be released accordingly yahoo!

so now nokia, sonyericsson and motorola have connectivity and charging at the same time via usb.

Don't think the n70 can be charged with an USB charger as it doesn't have a mini usb port.

What you need is a Nokia CA-70 cable. This connectivity cable lets you charge your compatible phone while transferring data to or from your PC. N70 is one of the compatible phones.

Nokia - Gallery - Accessories

Cheers!!!

Yes you can. Get a regular Nokia USB charger, head to a Nokia store and ask them for the converter cable(cant get the exact name though).

All you need is a regular Nokia USB charger and the cable shown in the below pic.

Does work mate. We have this complimentary USB charger given to us @ office which works with Moto's, Sony's, Samsung and Nokia.
We only change this end cable and the main cable which connects to the comp' remains same.
