This game is really hard to source..tried out pallika,ghaffar,croma and planet M but none of them have it.

It's only been a few days since it was released. newly released games usually take some time before they're available in India. You can try ordering it online if you don't want to wait:

How much will a PS3 console cost in the US now? And how much extra would the GT5 cost? Are there any accesories I'd need to buy, apart from the 240 Volts adapter?

Finally, got hands on GT5 Collector's Edition.
Wow wow, gotta get my hands on it asap. BTW, guys, just wanna know, how can you control the cars so finely as it's required for this game using the DS controller? Or you guys use a steering wheel? If so which once should be a good option around 5k approx?

Hey Jesal. You mentioned that your friend is a dealer. Could you please ask him and tell us about the current price of PS3 160 Gb + Move .
I have an option of getting it from the US where it is available for 400$.
So evaluating if it will be better to buy it from here if it is just a matter of 3-4 grands.
Finally got my copy of GT5. Did not buy the Collector's Edition although the temptation was very high considering it was only 300 Rs more.
I am surprised the GT5 costed only 2499 whereas some of the other good titles of PS3 sell for 3500 like Modern Warfare 2 and even the NFS Hot Pursuit and in my opinion GT5 is like grand daddy of all PS3 games. I was so happy to see the price that didnt even blink in buying it. (Had been waiting for almost an Year for this day)
First Hand Reviews:
1) Its a beautiful Game. One of the best Looking games Period. It is 3D compatible also and 1080P.
2) For people who have played GT5 prologue, Driving Physics is similar.
3) The Best thing I liked about the games is there is so much to explore.
Some of the Key Features:
a) Special Events which include Go Karting Events, Nascar and Rally events.
b) There are some special tasks which you need to perform to get various licenses.
c) A-Spec Events which is like the Career mode where you race the cars.
d) B-Spec Mode where you manage AI drivers and give directions and they race.
e) New Car Dealership and a Used Car dealership
f) You can install after market parts as well change engine oil and get your car a wash. clap:
g) Time Travel Mode. (Not explored yet)
For people who love cars and ofcourse who own a PS3 this is the Big Daddy Game. I am in Love. 1 Year of wait, and till now the result has been completely worth it.

While the 200 premium cars are amazingly detailed, and the 800 standard cars don't look too bad while racing. The shadows are just plain horrible and very blocky. There is also a lot of aliasing. Hopefully Polyphony Digital will fix the shadow problem in a update soon.
The texture quality on some of the tracks is also very poor for a PS3 game, but it's not really a big problem.

Initial Reactions!!
There is some learning curve which I will need to go through before being completely comfortable with it but I am enjoying this learning curve.
