I plan to pick up the iphone 14 pro max or pro model towards the end of the month (after the 15 launch), via a friend travelling to Canada. Any ideas about approximate pricing when new models launch & what would be the best place to buy from? Thanks! |
If possible try to buy the phone during the black Friday sale which is on 24th Nov,23 . You should get a good deal.Even I am planning to get one.

Nothing out of the box. Whatever details were out were eventually accurate. Pricing for iPhone 15 Plus is $899 and as per Zee News it will be ₹74,845 (I highly doubt)
Apple enthusiasts would know, approximately how much should we expect the pricing for 15 & 15 plus in India?

Since the prices are the same as before in USD, there are high chances that the price of the iPhone 15 and the 15 Plus would be the same as before at what the 14 and 14 Plus were sold ie Rs. 79,990/- & Rs. 89,990/- respectively.
There are slight chances of it being cheaper as there are rumors of Made in India iPhones.

Except USB C hardly any reason to upgrade, maybe the 5X optical zoom. One of the weakest iphone launch in recent memory and there presentation style really needs to be changed, even that is rehashed now just like phone designs.

Ideally it should hold on to the current prices of iphone 14 with only pro max getting expensive.
Here pricing is out.
Pro pricing is mind numbing.

Here are the prices of the for
base storage variant iPhones in India:-
iPhone 15 128GB: Rs.79,900/- iPhone 15 Plus 128GB: Rs.89,900/-
iPhone 15 Pro 128GB: Rs.1,34,900/- iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB: Rs.1,59,900/-

I wholeheartedly agree with your points. The other significant change is the new
Action Button, but that simply doesn't make any sense to spend so much and upgrade even if you have an iPhone 13 Pro.

13 pro was a good buy till it was available. With this pricing and flipkarts big billion days coming up, we must expect 14 & 14 plus to be dearer by ~20K Will we get BBD sale on 15 & 15 plus as well? I am contemplating moving from Android to iOS and with type C now, it makes a sensible choice. Also, read that all other existing models (13, 14 etc) will also get Type C port.
Guys how much discount can we expect on IPhones during Black Friday Sales in INDIA?Is it significant or just a joke?

Apple and their Authorised Resellers
never give any discount whatsoever on their latest products. You might find some discounts but that would be approximately 10 months from now and that too not a large amount.
About the Type C port in iPhone 13 and 14, I highly doubt it as why would a manufacturer change the production line after the product’s demand is going to be significantly lower than before.

I don’t think they offer much discount here in India. The best option to buy an iPhone in India is if you own a Business and purchasing in the name of your firm and then claim GST. The only other option is to buy it from abroad for a much better price.
Saw a sudden 35% drop in battery charge overnight, in my 13 mini: Should I be concerned about this ?
The phone is on iOS 16.5.1(c)
Offers on apple site:
Cashback offers
Get ₹6000 instant savings on iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, ₹5000 on iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, ₹4000 on iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, ₹3000 on iPhone 13 and ₹2000 on iPhone SE when you use eligible HDFC Bank cards.

I guess it sensed the new phones getting launched, and it is now preparing its departure :)
35% drop is 12 hours without use means some connectivity has gone wrong, either wifi or searching for 5g. For iOS, the probability of a stray app working in background is small.
For those looking to pick the new iPhones i.e. the 15 & 15 Plus, you can expect card discounts of around 4-5k INR on Flipkart / amazon. This is usually the case. However, I would still hold back and see how the 15 fairs in the market; coz depending on that we might see better offers in the coming months. For instance, my friend picked up the 14 128gb in Jan for 65k INR for the Republic Day sale which IMO was a great price back then.
The regular 15’s look like a good update from the 14’s and can be considered those looking to pick one. The Pro’s, not so much IMO.

Im thinking the 15 Pro and Pro Max will be superb upgrades from the 12 Pro Max which I presently use.
Mainly for the Camera capabilities and the Type C port.
Any thoughts?
The price difference between India and abroad is still high, so much for made in india !
You can take a trip to dubai, pick the phone and fly back wihch could still be cheaper than prices here :)
