Apple has just launched the iphone 4 today. Looks good, new design, new OS, has a gyroscope, better screen, records on HD Video, does multi tasking and more :)
Yes. Browsing through the live blogs. iPhone4 looks very promising so far.

Sorry, that was some tech blog. Looks like they were way off mark.
Official price: $199 for the 16 GB, $299 for the 32 GB iPhone. Of course these are with AT&T contract. But out of contract should be in range of $600.
The iPhone 4G uses a micro SIM. Do we get these SIMs in India? If not we'll have to wait till carriers introduce the SIM and phone together. Traditionally Airtel and Vodafone have been Apple's partners so they ought to be first off the block with the intro and micro SIM cards. As for the others time will tell.

:thumbs up it sure will be. They still r underestimating Indian market, its just a matter of time they will open up a plant somewhr in india :)
You can cut the regular GSM sim to make it micro sim, not a show stopper.
I am pretty sure that the iphone 4 will be launched in India by September. I'm still crossing my fingers that India is included in the 24 countries slated for release in August.
When is the darned unlock for the baseband 5.12.01 and OS 3.13 is coming? I have been waiting for it for the past 2 months now.

Meanwhile if anyone's noticed, the 3GS retailing @ $99 is now an 8GB model and not the 16GB verion we were all expecting.

Anyone know if the iphone is sold factory unlocked in Germany? It's one of the launch countries and I'm headed there first week july - timing couldn't be better!

No. AFAIK only Italy has a law prohibiting locked phones being sold.
