How often do we need service in warranty - almost never so why bother.

Maybe once max, and many shops even fix these problems for cheap. Not worth paying up 16k just for the warranty. The only problem is the 4G LTE, which won't work with the U.S. Handsets with current band 40 of Airtel.

This is still a grey area, I did checked with Apple customer support after iPhone 6 official launch at US and heard the same reply that you need to ship the phone back to the country of purchase on your expense to claim warranty.
Will be happy to hear if other wise, hence can you share some solid evidence / or a communication from apple for the benefit of our members?
Cheers!

I got my wife's 5S replaced under warrantee three months ago. You have to fight for it. Apple India will claim it's not valid till you hammer them to submission.

How did you argue that?

This was the case with iPhone 5. They've included 11 bands in iPhone 5S and now 16 bands for iPhone 6. I guess, even 5C is also compatible with Airtel 4G Lte bandwidth.

Just checked online and apparently T mobile unlocked version doesn't support 2300 MHz which is the band 40 for airtel's 4G. So I am not sure whether these phones will support 4G here.

Why do you want to buy an Unlocked Version from T Mobile ? Unless, you want to JB it. Yes, it can be customized for a particular carrier. Apple has done it for China. Well, If you're buying an Unlocked version, it should work fine in India. No idea about JB Phones.

Devices sold in US, Canada etc wont support Indian LTE network. You need to buy from Singapore, HK, Dubai etc. Dubai has limitation of facetime being unlocked hence best bet for cheaper price is Singapore or Hong Kong.

I ordered mine on ebay India last weekend and used a discount coupon to lock it at 49,500 for 16 GB :) Should be shipping from mumbai on 16-17 Oct as per ebay messaging.

Ask them to show in writing that the warrantee is not valid in India amongst other things that i can't share on the open forum.

Well, as of now, the LTE won't be supported on US handsets. But, Vodafone, Airtel and Reliance jio have bought 1800 MHz bands also and plan to utilise them for future as their implementation turns out to be cheaper due to less towers required as that frequency has larger range. So, in that hope and decent current 3G speeds in Delhi, I have just ordered a 6 plus 64 gb from US. 😄

Just checked on Iphone 6 that I got from Canada - 4G is NOT working .

Thanks for confirming. Will just have to wait till providers start rolling out LTE on 1800 MHz, probably around next year.

Now that's where having a lawyer friend to interpret stuff comes in. Oops i have said too much ;)

And yes, i probably was lucky.

Bhpians - Complaining about the Photos on iOS 8 ?? There's an update 8.1 from Monday onward. Hope the Battery issue is also resolved.

iPad Air 2 is more Thinner !!
6.1mm thick, World's thinnest tablet.
A8X chip, 2nd-gen 64-bit architecture, 3 billion transistors, 40% faster CPU, 2.5x faster GPU.

Well, I'm going off topic, let's stay with iPhone 6 launch, midnight at Forum, Orion Malls and UB City.

Interesting Line of Products from Apple - starting form Apple Watch to iMac !

I guess, they want to kill the iPad mini slowly. Why would they price the WiFi + Cellular Model $100 more than the norm. I mean now the difference between WiFI only & WiFi + Cellular Model of iPad Mini 3 is $229/-.

Or, they don't want to overlap the iPhone 6+ ??

Has anybody got their Iphone 6 & 6+ in India yet?

Lol i think all are awaiting delivery from online stores this time around :) Unlike previous years where people went and Q ed up.

Singapore/HK/Dubai iphones wont work on India's 2300 mhz TDD-LTE (Band 40) operations. Perhaps some HK operators phones MIGHT - but you have to be very careful of the model number. It has to be A1524.

The only models that are likely to support our existing LTE networks will be those meant for China since most Chinese operators are on LTE Band 41 (2500 mhz TDD-LTE), and some of them also offer Band 40 (same as Ind).

This will continue to be the case for most phones (not just iPhones) until our operators move to 1800 mhz FD-LTE (Band 3) which is used by a majority of operators worldwide.
