Was really very undecided until the last moment about which of the blacks to go for, but finally went with the Jet Black.


If you take my advice then go for matte black instead of jet black. Jet black looks like 3GS and Apple logo isn't visible whereas Matte black looks rich and Apple logo looks stunning. I saw both the phones in person and i'm blown by Matte black.

I know, but having been using a space gray 5s, have gone ahead for it. I agree that the black has that stealth kind of look which is amazing, but it was a totally impulsive decision after spending days deliberating the same. So going for that this year.

Actually have not booked in Gurgaon, have booked it at a shop near Khan market in Delhi, through a friend, who knows the owner. Has promised me delivery at midnight of the launch date.

I had earlier pre registered at Uni world's website, but they haven't started accepting payments yet and also the guy in Delhi is offering me more flexible payment options as my friend knows him. Uni world did say that they would start accepting pre booking amount this week. I had pre registered at both their ambience and galleria stores in Gurgaon, each for matte black and Jet black, when I was still deciding.

I don't know about booking process in other cities but my friend has recently booked iphone 7 plus in Nashik at Apple store by Nyasa. He booked it with 5000 rupees cash.

Sorry for a slightly OT version - could someone let me know when the iPhone 6 out-of-warranty replacement prices will drop?

My i6 recently died courtesy water damage. I have held off replacing it since the replacement price is likely to fall from 24500 to 20000 (what iPhone 5s replacement price was, in August). However, there's no clarity on when that might happen.

Could anyone in the know or with first hand experience share any data points / anecdotes?

Over in Guwahati, they are asking me 22,000 - 24,000 depending on the service center. My iPhone 6 died due to faulty cables. I fried my logic board in the process :Frustrati

On a side note, is there warranty available for the replacements? And does it come in a sealed box? I had bought the 4S and 5S before this and now the 6S but never faced this sort of problem before, i.e. the phone dying. :deadhorse

90 day warranty is what they offer.
No sealed box. Just open phone.

Did you have 6 or 6s? Your post mentions both.

Hey congrats man! Even i cant decide about the jet black or matt, Jet black would be very difficult to maintain and putting a cover on the phone defeats the purpose of getting the jet black phone, I am still confused, Jet black looks amazing no doubt but i dont handle my phones very well. :Frustrati

There might just be a workaround. Enable the Touch ID and register your finger that you wouldn't normally use, say your pinky. Raise the iPhone and use a unregistered finger. After two tries the passcode keypad will show up :p

Guys need a help. I updated to the free promotional windows 10 upgrade and hasn't able to sync my iPhone 5s since then. The error message shown is "required software is not installed and iPhone can't be synced". Browsed online for workarounds and followed all but in vain. The Apple mobile device support file/ folder is not at all seen in the path specified for workaround in all the sites. Tried reinstalling iTunes a hundred times. Any other way or shall I sync it with another computer (dad's)?

Oh, when I asked them about it, they said that they would not provide me with any warranty whatsoever :eek:

About the phone, I have both, the 6 and the 6S :)

I had been in discussions with a friend of mine in the US, and he told me surprisingly that the Matte Black also shows a lot of fingerprints.

With regards to keeping it in cover, no, I won't be doing that. I have another solution to that problem.

A guy in Gurgaon, provides a clear coat like material covering the phone from all sides, you don't even realise it is there, but it protects the screen too, just like tempered.

He gives a guarantee of 1 year that the coat won't peel off, else he replaces it free of cost.

This maintains the original look of the phone too while at the same time protecting it from scratches. It is after seeing this thing that I became confident of handling the Jet Black.

Let me post some pictures of someone's phone, whom I know, and you can only make out the coat from the front picture.

I have a strange situation. Purchased an iPhone 6 Plus 64gb from an Apple Store in Maryland, US on 15-Feb-2015. Included Apple care as well. When I checked the warranty status two days back it told me the phone has been replaced and wasn't showing up any warranty info. I took it to an Apple Store in chennai and showed them and they said this piece should not be with a customer and asked me to call Apple support.
Apple support inturn told me they are seeing the same info and to contact the point of purchase. I have emailed the store now with receipt of purchase.
Am very irritated that I have paid full price with Apple care and I may be the victim of Store fraud.
Has anyone ever faced such a situation?
