Sorry about lowering the bar a bit - came across a bunch of negative user experiences with the Nokia 5500 on the web - its available for 7k now and is feature packed! The other option is the SE k550i. The need is for a "workhorse phone" with decent battery, ok camera and edge.
Any experiences with either of these phones, anyone ?

Nope. There are updates, but none that re-lock the phone. HTC do not release carrier-specific updates - their updates are language specific, and thus have nothing to do with operator data. Trust me on this - I've unlocked these phones using xda-dev apps and happily done updates.

Er... Why do we have to relock the phone once we unlock it?

A query...

Anyone knows of a site/forum where I can find the themes for iMate (JAQ3) phones?

There will be updates but not the apple types. There is one update available on HTC site to speed up the camera right now.

A friend who unlocked an Airtel touch and was using a vodafone sim on it , downloaded this update and continues to use vodafone on it. No issues at all.

Oh well, HTC launched the Touch with 3G/HSDPA AND a Keypad today (for the likes of Navin), called the Touch DUAL.

It also uses the same Qualcomm 400mhz processor from the Tytn II in place of the slow Texas Instruments 200 mhz processor in the original touch.

Comes in two models - with a 16-key keyPAD or a 20-key keyBOARD.

And here's the 20-key version

However, from my mobile, I can connect with other mobiles (Nokia, Sony) through Bluetooth and can exchange files.

What could be issue?

You probably need a USB Bluetooth dongle for the T43.

Btw, folks .. thanks for your inputs. Got myself an E61i today.

If the laptop has USB then one should ideally not be using the bluetooth dongle. Which mobile do you have?

Me like!! Let's hope this gets launched soon & is not stupidly priced. This could be my next phone!

Steer: Any idea about the increase in the thickness of the phone?
