Am flying to Qatar tonight and want to know if the HTC Touch Pro is released in the middle East. Am seriously in love with it and plan to pick it up.
Steer, hoes the touch interface in this. Is it more touch friendly now. The touch I have is not really touch friendly other than their touch flo shortcut menu. All the rest you have to use the stylus. I stopped sending sms's once I got the touch.
Steer, how much did you (or the one who picked it up) pay for it? How much will the Touch Pro cost?

The touch interface is quite good and features multi-touch (all other HTC touch phones for the last 5 years were single-touch), but not as good as that of the iPhone. That brilliant interface will remain the iPhone's niche.
However, I really miss a keyboard - whether on this or the iPhone. Touch interface is quite cool, but useless when it comes to replying to emails or typing out anything more than an SMS.
The screen on the Diamond, however, is BRILLIANT. Terrific resolution, only bettered by some of the glofiish (Eten brand) phones of recent times.
So I still want the Pro.

Dhs.3,200 (x 11.4 for INR) - was picked up by the company, not by any individual. We dont have the pro yet - I hope it will be available tomorrow or the day after before I leave for Ind.

Directory numbers (your mobile numbers) are programmed at the network level and not at the handset or sim level - whether GSM or CDMA. You can change numbers at will.
Not just that - with ANY GSM operator, when you get a replacement SIM, they give you any SIM lying there, and reconfigure it so that your old number works?!
Old hat bro :D
Hi Guys have u checked out the new Samsung yet. Its windows mobile 6.1 pro and looks classy. Think its called omni. Looks like SE are going to loose out once again due to their huge lag time, with the diamond, iphone 3g and the smasung omni all coming out this month.
@mav2000, didn't find any reference to "Omni" anywhere. Did you mean SGH-i200 or i900?

Steer me drool all over the place @ Diamond !! and dear it was in news that in India Airtel will launch only a 2G set, actually all over the press conference coverage. If you look at India specific HTC site you will get an idea that they meant it!
Can anyone say, how good is viewty and if it has a better competitor?
Errrm how can i install new software on my E61 without losing any of contacts, messages, gallery, and other data?
I have my data cable in place, but i am not quite sure how i can take backup for my data, and then install an updated software.
My phone has been hanging since a few months, but only when i send out a message. It hangs for 3-4 minutes odd, and then is back to its normal self. But if anyone calls me in those 3-4 minutes i miss a call, and it keeps ringing for the person calling. I am assuming its just a software glitch (?)
manson.
i900 is in Samsung's cards, but no specific India's launch date has been penned down till yet. However, it is surely a iPhone competitor !!
