Before upgrading
Go to the Menu, and tools; then click on Memory. From here click on Options in the bottom left hand corner and select "Backup phone mem.". This process might take a while, obviously depending on how much data you have stored.Remove the memory card and update the software using PC suite provided along with the mobile phone.
After upgrading
Place memory card back and to restore a back up from your Mini SD card, follow the same procedure as with the backup, but just choose the "Restore from card" option. And to your surprise, your phone will be as before.

I managed to create a backup for all my data using PC Suite.
And, while i was looking up a software update, i came across a 'SMS Accelerator' application which would reduce the time taken to send a message.
Installed that, and the hanging problem is gone. So didn't bother updating the software on the phone.
The sms problem seems to be typical to the E61, or why would Nokia bother to create an application as such, and they even mention that the phone would become quite slow for a short while after installing the application, which it did, but was back to normal in ten minutes odd.

Manson yes the SMS accelerator application helps, but there could be a few other reasons for the hanging too. Firstly too many sms's in the inbox, i've noticed my phone slowing down with 1000+ sms in the inbox. Similarly if you have your SMS memory set to MEMORY CARD then the access time will be slow.

Dint want to start new thread for minor problem so thought of posting it here.
I have SE W810 mobile phone and 2 days back it just started to refuse to save pictures and video clips to 512MB memory card that came with phone.
I can save to phone's memory but not to flash memory.
what could be the problem???

I have the same phone and works beautiful since the last one year. Did you check if your mem card is not full?
Try removing it and insert it back and re-start the phone. If it still does not work, then you got to show it at the service center.
i know what the problem is. format your memory card. it has virus in it. i am 99.99% sure

Problem with my N70
Guys, need your help. I have been using a Nokia N70 for the past three years. I had no problems with this wonderful phone.
From yesterday, I am not able to put any theme on my mobile. Now the screen is showing just the blue colour. I have many themes saved on the memory card. But I am not able to install it and use it. What could be the problem? Can anyone help? please:
