I suggest the Nokia 2323 instead. Really good for the price.

If yuou get teh Nokia you have to subcribe to a service from Vodaphone (or whichever carrier your dad got) that limits the data transfer in MB. For those with large data requirements the BB service is cheaper (about Rs. 200 per month cheaper).

Besides with BB you get BB Messenger.
Last I recall, couple of us here were convincing you to be a BB convert. Looks like tables have turned and you are convincing others

The 9700 is a brilliant phone, have been using it for over 2 months now and lovin it !

Well to be sure I still do not like phones with 35 keys. My office has sorta tied one around my neck. Once Vodaphone sends me the BB I will use that for email and get another phone (C905 maybe?) for my voice/SMS.

I did some reading on esato.com about the C905 and there seems to be many people who have had trouble with it. Some complin about a shaky slider, some about poor firmware, etc..

After 3 years I parted ways with my faithful Motoming A1200 phone and shifted again to Nokia bandwagon with their 5800 offering. It cost me 14400/-. The only loss I made is "Windows mobile system". Well I was always a fan of Nokia (Had 2100 and 6600) but then love for touch screen made me shift to Motorola. Apart from Nokia no other cell gets good resale, well I learnt it hard way by exchanging my Ming only for 1k.

I have just started to use 5800 and boy what a phone it is. The screen is pretty big. It was my main criteria as I would use it as my navigation system as well. The phone is pretty fast without a lag as of now. I tried using GPS but without AGPS the lock on satellite time seems to be very long. I will trouble you guys as and when I feel stuck somewhere. Another cool thing I searched on Net is, I can use my PC's internet on 5800 using bluetooth (It is possible for all Java enabled phones), I have not given it a try but will do it in due course. Anybody has any hands on this?

Another model that impressed me while checking out other phones, is Samsung Galaxy. It costs 13K with B&W. It has andiod OS and it was pretty fast. The only problem was, it has only google maps and Andriod has less applications as compared to WinMobile or Symbian.

Thank you guys for helping me out with the purchase. Will keep you updated as and when I find something new in the device.

Using Nokia N73m, happy with it. It has all the features. But I like SonyEricsson for its menu and features and build quality.

Guys,

The Nokia map always shows my position where my home is even after I am at my office. Why it does not get the latest GPS data and show me where am I? Any settings I need to do?

Do you have sun film on windscreen?

Try staying on terrace (or any other open area a toffice) for 10 -1 5 minutes once. If phone still does picks up location, get it checked.

the 9700 is smaller & uses a touch pad instead of the touch ball. The rest (OS, etc..) are difference you wont notice immediately.

The cold start took 2-3 min to get lock on the satellites. It is now showing me the correct position. I will now use the tool which will calculate my speed and time taken to reach home. I hope it wont take 3 min every time I start the maps.

I parted with my 3 years old A1200 last weekend and now I am using E72 . No one was willing to take it back, so it is still with me and now I am planning to flash it and have some fun with the phone.

Does anybody use HTC Tattoo here? How is the Android OS? Is it sluggish or faster as compared to WinMo?
Would appreciate any advice and whether it's a good phone @15k.
