Guys,

Looking for a Mobile phone in 12k-15k range.

I am using Lumia 800 from December 2011 which is running on Windows 7.8.

I am considering the Lumia 1320 and Moto G (2nd Gen).

Basic needs are:

Big Screen for reading documents and mails,
Good battery,
Navigation,
Music,
Whatsapp,
Facebook.

Can someone tell me how is the performance of Lumia 1320 running on Windows 8.1?

Thanks.

Don't know about 1320 but I have a lumia 630 and I find the battery is pretty good. Lasts full day with 3g always on and a fair amount of browsing.
Navigation - Here maps are good. I also use gmaps+ which can find google markings - helps as google has more markers than Here.

Music - I would say one of the best. Comes with mixradio which can be used to download songs and keep it offline.

WhatsApp - works fine.

Facebook - now this the only app that I think needs some refinement.

Thanks for the info Deep.

That is good. Hope it is same with 1320,it comes with a 3400 mAh battery.

My 800 on 3G does not even last one full day.

Is there any provision in the New Action Center to close all the open apps? or is it still the old way by pressing the back button? :Frustrati

You have an "x" button on every app if you long press the back button. No there is no way to do it via the action center. But trust me, i don't think you would ever need it. I never close any of my apps - except in rare cases I shut down navigation but normally win8.1 never allows background tasks to run for long. Which is a disadvantage as well but the advantage is that the phone never slows down.

My Samsung N7100 Note 2 has a problem transferring files over USB. I connect to the PC over USB, it shows the N7100 as portable media player, the USB mode is as recommended, and I can browse initially after connecting.

So I browse to the intended directory where I want to copy to - usually on the SD card. When I paste, it shows the copying dialog but the progress bar gets stuck in less than minute, the file created in a zero byte file of the same name - if it's multiple files, it will fail on the first file itself, created as zero byte file with no other copied. Even if I leave it uninterrupted for like 30 min, it still doesn't copy anything. It seems to hang there, Windows Explorer doesn't show the phone and now I can't even browse the phone directories, it shows empty/hangs and I am forced to disconnect the phone to get the phone show up again in Windows Explorer.

The OS is 4.4.2, not rooted, and there is plenty of free space available on both the in-built storage and the micro SD card. What could be the problem here?

This is an issue with Samsung firmware, faced it on many devices.

These are few workarounds:

1. Share files over WiFi via shared folders (Root and install an app so that you can access CD Card/ Phone memory like any other folder.) I use : https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...nkyfresh.samba

2. Share files over WiFi via Kies (Really flaky, but might work)

3. Copy files to SD card and add SD card to PC

Note 3 (new one) seems to be around Rs. 25000

On Olx, there are people selling the phone from Rs. 14000 onwards

So, your phone will fetch you something in that price range.

Have decided to wait for the new Lumia 730 which is expected to go on sale in India sometime in October.

The price for the global market is 199 Euros. clap:

Hi! Did you receive your phone? I am planning to buy it for my dad and hence, requesting your feedback.

My budget is around 10k. Thanks!

Yes, I did receive the phone. I am not sure if this particular piece is bad, but its a disaster.

I received this phone the day I was leaving to the US for a trip. I didn't check if its working in India, but in the US it is not. I have checked that there other phones are able to catch the signal, but this phone just won't get the signal. It does get it intermittently for some time. I don't think its the service provider's problem as other phones are not losing the signal.

Next, it doesn't connect to the hotel's wifi. I am able to connect my laptop to the network, but this phone just doesn't connect.

I am now in a soup. Can't return this to snapdeal as I'll be back by end of Oct.

If I were you, I would stay away from this.

Sorry to hear about your experience with the phone. Sincere thanks for describing the issue as well. I am leaning towards the Lumia 530 dual SIM if I decide on buying a Windows phone. I have resisted till now only bcoz it has just 4GB of inbuilt memory.

My wishlist is 1GB RAM, 8 GB inbuilt storage with expansion feasibility to atleast 32 GB. Dual sim is not a must. Decent display and 1.3 GHz quad core (Mediatek) or 1.2 GHz quad-core (Qualcomm SnapDragon).

If its Android, I may increase the budget a bit and go for Moto G. Let's see.

I am using Lumia 1320 from the past 3 months, could not be more satisfied. The battery life lasts a day easily even more, though the performance is nowhere close to what the high capacity battery might make you believe.

No lags whatsoever, screen is beautiful and good for web browsing, watching films etc. It plays full HD videos effortlessly.
For your requirements, you should seriously consider this.
Few days back, the price was around 16500 on flipkart.

My Wifi router unfortunately doesn't work reliably and haven't managed to make it work consistently. And I'm trying to avoid removing the card, put in card-reader, then put back in phone cycle.

It used to work flawlessly before. Wonder what caused it to break.
