You have CDA R5? CDA R5 is R9 of the Phone firmware.

@navin & rodeo:i was planning to buy the p990i.im using an imate jam and was looking for a phone which had touchscreen,a numeric keypad and a keyboard.since you guys have been using this phone for a long time now,do you suggest i should purchase this phone or wait for the p1 or some other phone.am really confused since i have been reading a lot of mixed reviews.
is the phone as unreliable as mentioned in the various review sites?
was looking at this phone since the retail price is now 19k with bill.

The P990i is sort of stable now but it still can handle 2 calls (putting one on hold hangs up my phone so I cant even take the second caller). The P1 will be stable by August (if we are lucky) or Decmeber (more realisitc).

Lasrt week, I purchased P990i for 19k.
I think its worth for this price and satisfied till now.

It helps me with my needs
1. Push mail
2. Calendar Sync
3. Access home wireless internet
4. And use GPRS while moving around.

I would suggest u get urself a nokia e61i,its not a touch screen phone.
But its got wifi,alpha numeric keyboard,2mp cam,screen size is good too.Good batt backup.Its slightly wide ,but slim.it retails for 18.5k

I have been using P990 for about a month upgraded from p910i ...

Very slow,hangs , switches off at times ,

Good part :-

WiFi,very good qwert key pad,

They mention 6 months warranty from the seller..no manufacturers warranty ..

And P 990 i was on sales in TOI for 14,999 last week..

looks like stock clearence before the arrival of P 1 i

P990 has become so much more stable from the time I bought it first. I have upgraded the firmware thrice and this is finally usable. Given the current price and stability, i think its worth it now.

Only issue is i dont find too many free software for it. Even Skype is not available for it.

how is the handwriting recognistion software in this .i would quickly like to open the phone and takes down important points or adress or any information. Do you guys get the wrinting with stylus right all the time , or with time it funtions better or worse ?
And hows the battery ?

Any idea how much is this in bangalore this time?
