I am looking for a sub 15000/- Android phone for wifey, have shortlisted Sony Xperia M. Are there any other phones I can consider within Sony, Samsung or Nokia. Lumnia 520 also looks tempting, however the ram, camera and win 8 lead me towards going for Xperia M. Thanks for your suggestions.

You can go with the Lumia 620 in that budget. Also, I wouldn't worry about the 512 MB RAM, the Lumias don't lag at all - it's really smooth.

Guys, I heard that Samsung released Android 4.2.2 update for Galaxy Grand in India. I bought it from Malaysia about 6 months back and it says that my phone already has the latest updates. Please help.

PS: Ditto with Wifey's S3

Mine shows as 4.1.2 and Wifey's 4.2.1

Guys - what happens if there is a system update(OS) which is downloaded & we don't want it. Can we chose not to install it. And if we can and we reject it, can we download it again later?

Ideally, you should be able to install the downloaded update or check for updates and install the update.

Here is my experience with Galaxy Nexus. I was on 4.1.2, phone downloaded the update to 4.2.2. I didn't want to update, so I kept selecting later.

After few weeks, when I wanted to upgrade, I clicked install and the installation didn't start.

Try for the Nexus 4 on Bestbuy, Amazon, etc. It's an awesome phone. Nexus 5 could be better, but that'll be out towards the end of the year!

thank you Top Gear.
will it still be having decent price difference?

Thanks,

Ace.

How do you select later? I have the downloaded icon on the top left always. When I pull it down it says "System Update downloaded. Touch to install". I see now way to removing the icon or select later?

Guys,

I've almost finalised for Nexus 4. However in a dilemma buying through flipkart or ebay. Somehow not confident on ebay though some pieces are cheap than flipkart!

How is it safe buying from ebay?

Any idea how much it costs in LG stores?

You could check it out. I guess it's around $350 on Amazon.

Have you checked the Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro? Has decent spec and should fall in your price range after discounts.

Ps. The WP8 UI is brilliant IMHO, and performs well even on 512MB RAM.

Thanks guys for all the help! It was indeed the charger wire/cable which was faulty. The older wire was charging at 200mA as per the app.
I had another USB wire which came with the Croma PowerBank which i received free with the phone. Used that wire & voila the problem was solved!clap:

When Samsung will roll out Android update for Note II? Its still 4.1.2 till date. Even the cheaper Galaxy Grand has 4.2 now!

The Note 2 & S3 are expected to get an update to JB 4.3 this month as per announcements during the Note 3 launch. It adds support for Samsung Gear. The Note 3 comes with JB 4.3 OOTB.

Don't worry, you aren't missing much even with a 4.1.2 build. There's not much of a discernible difference (to me) in user experience between 4.1.2 and 4.3. Its the same old Touchwiz interface after all.

@bluevolt - I just saw this:

This is an unofficial build. Please don't attempt to upgrade unless you are familiar with phone backup & recovery/OS flashing techniques
