Proximity sensor issue. If you have a screw behind the proximity sensor (on the back of the phone) which can be adjusted a bit, then you may try doing so. You will need a small screw driver which the repair shops have.
I am not sure if you phone can be fixed that way, but on my Defy, I did that and never had issues again.

Don't see any screw directly behind the proximity sensor (Looks like its kind of integrated into the 3.5 mm jack unit), but maybe I can try tighting up the main screw on right side corner. Thanks!!

Moto G launch delayed. Now we will get to know more on 5th Feb.
So, something has gone wrong.

Got my hands on my own Moto G on Sunday. Brilliant display and solid to handle!! Fast processor too. Currently giving me 24 hrs battery life 24 Hrs of internet (mobile data or WiFi), display on for more than 5 hrs, Battery Saver mode put to OFF and Apps such as Facebook, Emails, Maps, WhatsApp and Flipboard on all the time.

Good to hear that. Try a more realistic scenario with Wifi ON around 12 hours a day and 3G for 1 hour. No games, no maps, no facebook. Voice calls: 1 hours and screen ON: 4 hours. I hope it lasts 48 hours.

Pals,

My Sony Xeperia M is getting disconnected very often from Net.
I need to switch off and then on back to get the connection restored.
Is this a regular feature of M or some settings have to be done?

Thanks for Help in advance.

regards,
Maverick79.

This is an issue with these Android versions from a number of different manufactuers, especially Sony. You'll have to toggle between Airplane mode and Normal mode to get your net working. Bear in mind that you'll have to allow a few seconds for the toggle to actually take effect and then switch back. Hope this helps.

Thank you Mudhalaipatti.:thumbs up Now I can relax as this is a universal problem.

I didn't try the Airplane mode till now. May be, I can save some battery this way, than switching on and off to get connected.
Will try and keep posted.
Its okay today as of now.
I face this atleast once in two or three days.

I also face the issue of network cutoff whenever i get inside an elevator or go to the basement where the network is not available and when i come out the network at times does not get restored automatically. I also do the Airplane Mode toggle for a few seconds and everything is back online. Mine is a stock Gnex.

updated my Samsung S3 to Android 4.3 a few weeks ago.
Dissappointed.

battery life has reduced drastically.
Camera drains battery excessively. scary at times. add google maps+navigation too.
stock email app doesn't refresh emails immediately.

I have a few more grouses..maybe I've started to live with it.

But overall, I was better off with 4.1

Even i faced battery issues. I had a windows live account configured for push mail using the builtin email app. Turned out it was the exchange service causing wake locks and excessive battery usage. Have deleted that, and now i use k-9 for email. All is fine now. Maybe you have the same issue? In any case try a factory reset to see if things improve

This is most likely to be a exchange server issue. If not, then try to switch off sync (everything) and see how it fares. Don't let this situation continue for long, as the battery will eventually die down and you would end up replacing the battery.

Tried the Airplane mode changing trick today morning and it worked. Thank you once again.
Battery draining also is less compared to switching Off & on method.

agree:
I am sure it will give much more than 24 hrs as it's still early days of my shiny new phone and I keep looking at the beautiful screen every few minutes! And moreover app downloads, Account configurations, trying out Google Now and Moto Assist!!
