OnePlus 5 prototype leaked in design sketches
Design sketches of the OnePlus 5 have appeared on Weibo, but according to our sources, they show a prototype model rather than the final OnePlus 5 design. Nevertheless, we can assume some features will make it onto the final product, including the hotly anticipated dual camera and the popular Alert Slider. But other features only serve to reinforce the likelihood of the sketches being of a prototype only.
For starters, the design sketches reveal dual cameras on both the front and back of the device. While it is possible that OnePlus could manage this, putting four cameras on a device with razor thin profit margins would likely make the OnePlus 5 price too high, both for OnePlus and OnePlus’ fans. You’ll remember even Samsung reportedly opted out of using a dual camera on the back of the Galaxy S8 because it was going to be too expensive, even with the S8’s vast profit margins.

The two inset diagrams of the camera appear to show both a dual lens and single lens option, with what could be interpreted as a sandstone finish around the camera glass. (That single lens inset also has us puzzled, as it seems to show a laser auto-focus module like that used on the OnePlus 2 before the switch to PDAF on the OnePlus 3). It looks like the camera bump might be set for a return too.
All this said, we’re only looking at a design sketch here which may or may not have ever progressed beyond spitballing (we’re trying to find out), so don’t put too much stock in what you see. Some things do seem clear though: the rumors of a dual camera are well-founded; we may not have seen the last of ceramic on a OnePlus device; the Alert Slider isn’t going anywhere; and OnePlus apparently doesn’t want to get all courageous where the headphone port is concerned.
Note: It’s also worth pointing out that the source of these design sketches claims the OnePlus 5 launch will be in June.

Should not be a hassle for my wife but for me I need 2 because of WhatsApp. Not come across a good phone with 2 WhatsApp accounts.
I keep 2 numbers. One for Family and Close friends and the other for Office and other people. I like to keep WhatsApp contacts and groups segregated too. Primary number is used for Whatsapping Family and close friends and Family Groups and serious WhatsApp groups like HAM, 4x4, Skoda etc which are strict about no jokes, forwards, porn etc. The secondary number contains the Groups that are not important but I can't exit. |
Checkout the Parallel Space android app.
I am running it on my ONE PLUS 3T without any issues for the specific purpose of having 2 WhatsApp accounts on one phone.
Thank you!

This is the 3GB RAM 32GB storage version i guess. Please let me know how it feels after moving over from MIUI and if you are finding the usability good. The main reason I like MIUI is for the out of the box options it has with regards to many things that are required on Android devices like cleaner, battery saver, battery percentage indicator, etc etc. This is the major grouse i had with the Moto G 1st gen. Even for a battery percentage indicator it required an app. Is it the same with the Lenovo UI as well as I have read it is very close to stock android. Also how is the RAM management and heating issues if any? If you clarify these above points, this phone is in the top of the contenders list for a replacement for the Redmi Note 3. Nothing wrong since the last 10 months with the Redmi Note 3 but it is becoming cumbersome handling the huge phone and want something little more compact. The 5 inch phones currently are all budget options with inferior SoC and the Z2 Plus is the only worthy contender currently. So want to get one before the production is stopped. :) |
I am pretty happy with the phone. Didn't really feel that I am missing something from MIUI. However, please note that my usage is pretty light (its my secondary phone, primary being a blackberry given by my organization).
The UI has a battery % indicator, battery saver and cleaner. I haven't noticed any issues with the heating/RAM. However, I do feel that the finger print scanner in my RN3S Prime was much smoother than the one on this one. This one sometimes goes in such a deep sleep that it doesn't unlock on scanning the finger. I have to first wake it up and then scan my finger (Not sure if there is some setting that I am missing).
The camera quality is nowhere even close to the one that I had on my RN3S Prime. But its a compromise as I don't use the camera much.
Hope it helps! Let me know if I can answer any other questions.
I am facing the following problems with the Moto G4 (Not Plus) bought for wife in Jan this year
1. Ghost Touch once in a while.
2. Wifi Hotspot gives problem on my Laptop. If I connect the Sony Vaio Laptop over Hotspot with the Moto G4, sometimes the Network Connectivity shows No Internet Access even though it shows Currently Connected to Moto G4. I have to Refresh it multiple times to restore connectivity. Does any one face this problem with their Moto G4/G4 Plus?
Please suggest solutions on these problems.
Is it a good time for Buying Mobile in Amazon.in Great Indian Sale or should I wait for Flipkart Big 10 Sale-
Please suggest which one to go for from below list if to buy from Amazon Sale-
1. Honor 6X- 10999/-
2. Lenovo Z2 Plus- 11999/- 32GB Variant
3. Coolpad Cool 1- Gold 3GB Ram, 32GB Variant selling for Rs. 10999/-
4. Moto G4 Plus (16GB) (would skip this if facing too much Heating Issue and Ghost Touch)
5. Micromax Evok Note
6. Lenovo Vibe K5 (available with VOLTE update)
7. Lenovo K6 Power-
Requirements-
1. Good Camera,
2. 4G
3. Less Bloatware
4. Good Display
5. Good Call Quality
6. Good Battery Backup
7. Good Speaker Volume (Preferably the Speaker should not be on backside as this blocks the Sound if the phone is kept screen facing towards sky). The Lenovo Vibe K5 and K6 Power have the Speakers on their lower backside.
8. Should not have problem with WiFi HotSpot Issue.
Thanks in advance.

Honestly, the only sub 20k phone i recommend right now is the moto g5 plus on flipkart : price might come down during flipkart sale.
For the others, i bought the lenovo z2 plus at launch. It is honestly pathetic: heating, lagging, mediocre color/contrast on the display and a sad camera. Someone adept with android can handle the heating and lagging after gaining root access, but otherwise skip it.
I know a couple of people using a G4 plus who arent facing any issue at all.
If i had to pick from this list, would probably pick the 6X
If I change my S7 to S8, I would like to get the SMS as well along with others which are transferred easily.
Any idea about SMS's?

M not expert but i guess you might need to transfer SMS separately.
There is an app '
SMS backup & restore' on playstore.
Just take backup on S7 and send through mail and restore on S8.

You can use an app called All Backup Restore from Google play to backup and restore sms, call logs, contacts, bookmarks, apps, etc. You can use google drive or drop box to save backups. And, it is free!

S8 comes with smart switch...

Sms backup+ is a very lightweight app. It allows you to sync your messages to google drive and also restore . Moreover it continually backs up sms call logs. Found it very useful

Samsung smart switch will backup ur entire phone, including settings, ringtones, wallpapers and accounts.
I dont have first hand experience, but a couple of friends did swap, and worked pretty well.

My wife upgraded from an LG Optimus to S7 Edge. The Smart Switch (or whatever it is called) takes care of the SMS and much more. That is the fastest way to get setup.
Edit: Looking for a fancy case for a black S7 edge - for the missus.
Wifeys 2 yr old Moto G2 has become dead slow so thought of getting a Honox 6x 64gb from Amazon. Her requirements are mainly selfies, photos, music and social networking. Is 6x a good choice within a budget of 15k?

Congrats on the purchase.
Been using this spigen clear case for the past 1 year. Retails at 1199. But it's a wonderful product. I haven't used any screen guard till date and it does a great job at protecting the phone. Highly recommended.
