Are you sure - can I have the link if you have? It's listed in the banner, but the link has only the 64 GB version for purchase, for me. The invite is required to buy from the Oneplus site which otherwise will start the sale only after 4 days.

So, probably I'll just have to wait for the Galaxy Note8 expected to be launched in August (and expect Samsung to price it low after the Note7 disaster) |
Samsung don't carry the IR blaster nowadays.
Ok so I've jumped on the OP5 bandwagon. Ordered the 8/128 model.
I had hoped O+5 would have been out of stock by now. But it's 9.30 pm and still both versions are easily available on Amazon. Maybe people look for wireless charging, high definition screens, upgradable sd card option and ip68 or some level of waterproofing in their flagships? It's a great phone in isolation but perhaps overpriced by 5~10k going by OnePlus's earlier philosophy, imho. And 8GB RAM, seriously!! Are they intending users to do video editing and using photoshop on their phones?
Cheers...
5 has now hit a price-band where people won't trade-off features for price. "Oh, but it's cheap so feature XYZ missing is understandable" is no longer a valid argument!
Mi6 costs only 24k for the 6/64 config and 28 for 6/128, clearly shows you that OnePlus has upped it's profit margins.
I think Xiaomi can cash in the win here, if only they launch the Mi6 here soon with a price under 30. And the best thing it doesn't even look like a 7 plus ripoff and the portrait mode is better and the optical zoom is truly 2X

128 GB is out of stock now but they haven't disabled the option. Instead, customers can still order it but the message above it says 'in stock on 25 Jun'.

It is rumored to launch on 23rd july, since xiaomi launches a phone every alternate 23rd this year and they have confirmed that something is indeed coming. it would be clear within 15-20 days which phone is coming in july, so I would suggest waiting till mid july at least before jumping on board the OP5.
As for reviews, check the written review on Gsmarena.com and a youtube one, this guy does great detailed reviews.

For an Indian touch, C4Etech will come with the review of it in the indian setting in the coming week so look forward to that.
Can someone please suggest a screen protector or a tempered glass for my Galaxy S8. I have splurged and wasted enough money on trying different screen guards but found nothing which sticks properly.
On top of that, i am also using a Spigen Ultra Hybrid Case which fits very tightly. If i need to lose the case, then i will but protecting the screen is priority. Help !

The reason I stayed away from the S8. It is all glass, one drop w/o any protector and the phone is gone.
^Got the iPhone 7
Just for the information of all the Oneplus fanboys out there - OnePlus, VIVO and OPPO are owned by a Single Owner - BBK Electronics. It has 9000+ employees, does major finance and research and provides ready platform for OnePlus, Vivo and Oppo. Now OnePlus is making an event trying to convince everyone about how small but successful they are. About how small they are but are still fighting against major brands. Infact OnePlus and OPPO has same office and staff sharing common space to exchange ideas. In India they have different marketing people, distributors and dealers fighting each other for market share and space on every road to put up their hoardings.
The fact is that they are the SECOND Largest Mobile producers in world after Samsung. Way above LG, Sony, Motorola/Lenovo, Nokia & HTC. They are again coming with a fourth Brand Name "imoo" shortly. Just like Apple they will come on stage, quack about how we designed, how we heard customers feedback and will present nearly the same phone Oppo (R11) has released months ago. Just wait and watch.
At least they had the courtesy to acknowledge to Verge that they don't have the tech to make curved screens. But to claim a camera better than Apple and Samsung is just pure twisted marketing... And many will fall for it.
Cheers...

Invest on a good case , screen protectors are useless .

Have you tried the spigen neo flex screen protector?
It is cheaper than the products like moshi and zagg, and seems to have decent reviews. A family member seems to be pretty happy with it.

THIS, this is the reason why I won't buy a Chinese branded phone, I know the Chinese are good assemblers and manufacturers but they become a bit shady when developing their in-house products.. they need tight quality control by giants like Sony and Apple.
Look at the gimmickry that BBK Electronics is doing.. splitting their production into a million brands, give each a niche and sell them at floor prices to start with and then slowly give the injection of updates and price rise with each subsequent model. The guts they had being nameless, unknown brands to actually send or "reserve" invites for purchase of their brands LOL I simply burst out into tears laughing when I first saw it. Even Vertu the luxury phone manufacturer with hand-built titanium body and sapphire crystal screen models do not have an invite system, got the cash? Carry it out of the store.
In terms of affordable high-enders it is Sony, Apple, HTC and Samsung for me in order. Samsung is a bit of a copycat (design and other features from Apple, waterproofing and build from Sony - shameless copying). Sony and Apple are true in-house innovators.
