Some good news to all Nexus lovers!

Hello All,

I recently lost my Iphone5s, so tought to switch to android until the launch of Iphone6. First i bought grand2 but didnt like it much and got it changed for S5. Man, the phone is really good, not sure why its price dropped like anything but i really like the phone. After using apple for so many years, android is such a fresh feel, apps like SAAVN, true caller, work so much better with android.

Will i be shifting to apple again, Nah dont think so, not atleast for a year or two.

Rehaan,
Are you still facing battery drain issue with Google play services ?

See the screen shots below on my N5.

Facing a similar issue. After searching on different forums, a simple tweak did the trick.

Try to turn off Location services which use ""wifi and/or network.." in the settings.

Hope it helps :)

New version of android will be called android L ,so Google has stopped naming their updates after "sweets" like ice cream sandwich and Kitkat .

The new version has significant changes in UI and looks ,they are following the apple way for more "flat" look .Its called the material design .

The new keyboard design is really nice and its available for free in Google play store

Actually, I don't think that's entirely true. They haven't really decided on what to call it, so they're calling it L for now.

If you look at the 'about phone' section in the factory images released by Google, they haven't even decided on the version number.

All the details will be finalized when the update is officially released later this year.

In that case Google might be coming up with another "sweet" name for their next update.

Guys I am selling my Galaxy S3 for 13k. It's 4 months old with bill and box. Is the price alright?

They have been naming it after deserts in alphabetical order. Next should have been Lime Pie and I don't know what is the status now! I thought Android L is for low end smart phones!

Yes it is .
S4 is bought back at 18 or 17k. So I think its a good deal .

@Gokrish, You must be right .android L = Lime pie

Low end phones also run latest android ,only the project is named as android One.

@drsingh, that's a nice one :thumbs up

Though this might be out of place, it is interesting to note that some other OS naming also follow a pattern. Ubuntu OS releases are named after animals prefixed with an adjective. Similarly Mac OS X were named after big cat family but now apple follows names of places in California!

When I installed it, it prompted saying it will save/keep my passwords and other sensitive information. I have forgotten if Swiftkey also prompted this alert. Scared me a bit, because if it is saving this information, can they be relayed back to the developer? are they not encrypted?

Guys, i am presently using a Samsung Galaxy Ace+ which has a 512 MB RAM and 1 GHz processor (full specs).

My phone freezes up and is very slow at times. I have a task killer app which helps but off late it just goes numb and refuses to respond to touch, hangs intermittently, etc. to the point of irritation.:Frustrati

I am looking to buy an android phone with below minimum requirements:

1. 2 GB RAM (cannot live with a slow device anymore)

2. 1.2 GHz processor

3. 8MP primary camera

4. Expandable memory

I shortlisted a couple of phones from Lenevo but please tell me how does one replace the embedded battery in it.

I am most concerned about after sales service so please suggest keeping in mind my min. requirements along with this factor.

The outer limit of my budget is around Rs. 18k.

Thanks in advance.
