SL is a decent phone and VFM. Superb 4 inch screen. There ends the goodies, very little support on XDA. Latest rom is 2.3.6 Gingerbread from samfirmware. Looks like that the end of the road for this device. Dont think it will get ICS.

I have this phone since a week now. As you rightly said, it has the Best screen under 10K. 480*800 resolution makes the experience out of the world. I dont need to zoom too much to read web content nor the edges of the icons appear crappy. I watched couple of AVI movies on this phone and it was too good to believe.

The only area this phone lags is the processor which for normal usage is descent but heavy gaming would be an issue. The camera is also average to say the least.

I use my BSNL BB and many sites (like Facebook, Reverbnation etc) won't load on using my computers and android devices. But, can be accessed using proxies.

So, I would be happy if someone guides me on how to set up a proxy on my LG P500. Thanks in advance. :thumbs up

I am a total newbie in this. So damn scared of moving on to another ROM. One of my friends on SGS shifted to custom ROM and lost the ability of calling :D.

I went through the XDA for this phone but did not encounter the stable GingerBread release, let alone ICE. But, I guess, its time for me to shift to custom ROM now

Can someone suggest a launcher other than Go, which allows multiple application shortcuts to placed in one go on one of the secondary home screens?
it gets painful dragging them one by one, and Go is very heavy on my poor x10.

You could go for siyah kernal 2.3 or 2.4, you could set the voltage and set it to lulzactive with setcpu. I personally prefer 2.3. The other that's battery friendly is speed mod k16 kernal. Both offer excellent battery life and performance. Plan to try void.echo next.
