Rooting made easy !!
I have tried the
unlockroot tool on my Nexus S Gingerbread 2.3.6 earlier and it was rooted without any problems. All the data were safe. But it failed to root again after updating to ICS 4.0.3
The program is simple and easy to use.
unlockroot Device List which it supports (as claimed)
Motorola's Atrix 4G is available at 18k in Indiatimes.com. Is it a better phone than Galaxy S on the whole?
I see everyone has a samsung, and so want something different. Planning on Defy+ (i know a motorola employee who can get it at a better price), but suddenly this came along. Any thoughts?

i own one.And if you're comparing it with the defy+ its atrix all the way.
It has a dual core processor and the ability to turn into a CPU running linux when attached to a HDMI screen.
Remember that you wont get warranty though. any warranty you get will be a sellers warranty not official Motorola warranty.
As for the comparison to the Galaxy S.The Atrix is a huge leap ahead

+1 to everything. no comparison though. That said, read up the reviews. i honestly think it is awesome pricing for 18k.
check with dkaile on how much it would cost via ebay as well. he got his CDMA S2 for 22k.

Wow thats a real bargain for a phone like Atrix 4G. If its a brand new piece then its definitely a better buy than Galaxy S due to more specs.
BTW, I got 3+ days of battery life on my Motorola Defy. No games & internet though.
( cant attach the image using tbhp app as it crashes)
^^ There is a further 1500 off (using a GC coupon SR124783407643040) which makes this a brilliant deal!!
Any new phones coming in the 18-22k range?

For now Alpha is offering S2 at the lowest prices. Another strange thing about Alpha – The above price is if you pay in cash. If you pay by card there will be an additional cost of 1.5% increasing the cost to Rs 30,200 (Is something fishy here?). Alpha is giving the phone with bill too. |
All retailers are charged a certain fee by Mastercard / Visa for usage of cards. This eats into the profit margins of retailers who balance it out by the volume of customers these days who prefer to go to an outlet that gives them the flexibility of paying by card.
So it looks good.
Bought a Motorola Defy + after a lot of research. I was lusting after Galaxy Note but opted for Defy + because of 2 reasons:
1. Did not have the heart to spend 32K on a phone :)
2. Wanted a "sturdy" phone that can withstand handling by my kids.
So far so good. Installed Juice Defender and my phone lasts almost 2 days with moderate internet and gaming.
Did not like motoblur much. No plans to root as of now. May be later.
As for the phone, if you are looking for a sturdy phone that can withstand occasional drops and rain, go for it. Downsides are that it only has a single core processor - I'm fine with this as all the apps that I want run smoothly.
BTW, bought it for Rs 16.5K from infibeam.com. I do not recommend infibeam - suggest flipkart though costlier is a better, faster and safer option.

Congrats for the Defy+. It certainly is a good choice for no compromise sturdy android. Not sure if Indian version also has that blur thing. I think its just the moto widgets.
BTW, if you plan to root it in feature then there is good news , as there is already a working ICS build released which currently supports Defy+ kernel. ( not all functions are supported on normal defy kernel as of yet).. have a great time with it.

May be this is the reason what (at least) the HBOOT version on htc is changed once you unlock (S-Off) it. Then it does not go back to the safety off mode. You just add the correct tools and you are in business. Very soon you can expect the tools for ICS!
Has anyone paired/used their Samsung phones with Samsung TVs in here?

I read somewhere about it having no support for Flash. So that's a bit of a downside. I am also curious to know how it performs as I am contemplating on picking up one for myself.

Yes, I have and am using it to view videos/pictures etc. via Allshare App from my Galaxy S2 (D710) to my Samsung LED TV UA-40D5000 (both are connected over my home wifi network). Some screen shots are attached -
You can also use your phone as a remote via Wifi by using this free app on the market -
https://market.android.com/details?i...nJlbW90ZVRWIl0.
which has also been tried and tested to work perfectly by me.
Some screenshots of the Android App to control your Samsung TV from your Galaxy S2 (or any Samsung Android Phone) -
