Almost usable for the average user. if you like bleeding edge stuff, then its good to go.

I can't wait for WajkIUI ICS to release - that will be awesome! Even donated him a few bucks - nothing like encouraging some awesome work!!

Phamilyman,

Isnt WajkIUI ICS already released? Accepted its still in beta. I used it once but was not happy. So shifted to GB :D GB works like a charm. I have no complaints. WIUI has been the longest running customer ROM on my S2 clap:

Thanks. I am hoping that there is more progress made and it is completely stable and usable for end users like me.
Meanwhile, I am considering switching to this one:
[ROM][17 Feb] GGL ROM - Defy Green Lens [Android 2.3.6] - Page 20 - xda-developers

My phone seems very slow at time -especially with calling and texting.
Plus the temperature shoots up to 30-35 C while browsing or while in car.

I have a few applications (like Triplog GPS Mileage) which have got some data which I cannot lose.
Do I need to backup stuff using Titanium Backup Pro?

:D I am speaking on Defy. That needs updates - the CM9 developers ahve gotten camera etc working. only trebuchet stability needs to happen now. WIUI once implemented on Defy ICS will rock!

NO!
a. Its Defy+ ROM. You cannot downgrade (atleast not easily - see my old posts) to froyo etc. i.e warranty remains really in doubt. See the original ROM thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1472086 (no root, no downgrade etc)
b. I will never install a ROM whose owner says: "As an head's up: I don't plan to heavily customize this (I want to be closer to pure Motorola) or to release many updates", considering even walter79's ROM is not perfect.

Of course, your data is never guaranteed, even inspite titanium backup. most apps data is saved - but i don't know your particular app's behavior so its data *should* be available. Should. God bless and do post back your adventures thereafter :D

Install Nova launcher. Trebuchet is slow and buggy. Nova is the best ATM for ICS

(also if you have Titanium backup, before running the nova launcher app turn it into a system app.it enables the widget drawer)

Here is some good news for folks looking for a dual core android phone. Motorola Atrix 2 is now available in India for Rs. 23,000.

A better alternative to the galaxy R.

What about the ICS update? Any idea about that. Motorola is very slow with updates. Also at 23k it would be better to put in 4k and go for the S2.

You have my vote for this. SGS2 is vfm according to me.

Sick a powerful phone and yet so lite and huge.

yes the atrix 2 will get official ics .with the Google acquisition stuff will only go faster .

and yes the sgs2 is a great phone.but we can't compare the two.4k is a big amount to most people and that is why the galaxy R sells like hot cakes.atrix 2 is competition to the galaxy R not the S2

Want to run Ubuntu in your Android phone? You need a dual core Phone - check this out:

Guys can you pl let me know which out of the given below is a better one.

Nokia 500
Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830
Samsung Galaxy Y S5360
HTC Explorer.

Range is 10k, + or -2k. If you think there is a better one pl suggest.

This device looks interesting. A 3 in one (Tablet, PC and a mobile)

ASUS - Mobile- ASUS PadFone

I wish to see a lot of them in the future.

Are you sure about that ?
I did read a few reviews where Atrix 2 is rated highly only because of its relatively low price of 100$. So the price has overshadowed its quirks if any i guess.

Dell XCD 35/Idea blade.

If you want build quality go for HTC explorer/wildfire S.

If you can stretch your budget a wee bit. the motorola defy is your best bet.

Atrix 2 has internals identical to the galaxy nexus. only with a slightly lower level processor and no NFC.The phone is no slouch when it comes to computing power.
And the fact that this replaces the Atrix 4g which has the same specs as the galaxy R says it all.

Plus the Atrix 2 is blessed with some cool accessory support. it plugs into a lapdock to turn itself into a laptop running linux and into an HD dock to turn it into an entertainment hub.

I'd suggest you 1st toss the Galaxy Y from your list and include the Optimus Net and Hub. Net is right down in the looks department though. Now amongst these, the Ace perhaps has the worst battery and the best cam. However, the Hub's cam may be comparable (from sample pics I'v seen. Not used the cam personally). HTC Explorer's price has currently dropped and now looks quite attractive, if you can live with an AF camera and that too of not so great quality. Those are the broad differences. Take your pick.
