I currently use Opera Mobile and find it to be the smoothest in scrolling and pinch zoom. :thumbs up Going to remove the system browser and make Opera Mobile a system app.

I had used the Atrix last year. I could live with the average cam, specs, usability and locked bootloader, but the pathetic battery life ensured that the device did not complete even 7-8hrs of mild usage. Disposed it off after 3 weeks.

Not sure if the Atrix2 inherits any of these!:)

I've been living with an atrix for the past few months. battery life is excellent with me getting two days with heavy usage. the Atrix has a bigger battery than almost all the phones out there

I am not expecting much with low light and flash.

But the more important items are business/office related. If they are good,
then nothing like it.

Business emails are handled quite well.you wont be disappointed on this aspect

1) It has a dedicated camera button, but not like the conventional 2 stage buttons used in most AF cameras including Neo. Its just a single stage button which will do both focusing and shooting.
2) Quality of shots, especially in low light is unacceptable.

If you're not a shutterbug, you can discard these two things. Being said that, I think Galaxy series is also not a master in this department.

Not every phone is as an all rounder as the neo is it?

Resale will not be good as Moto is something which misses the WOW factor in this side of the world :) My friend with Atrix is still struggling to find a scratch guard while a Galaxy accessory can be found even in those foot path mobile stores. :thumbs up
He is struggling because the Atrix was never launched in india. so obviously vendors wont stock spares. And if he really wanted a screen gaurd that bad ebay india has plenty in stock.

If you have some more time before finalizing, I suggest wait a bit as I think the price may slash down and settle around 20K which seems to be a steal !!!
Not happening. no device drops 3K with a month of launch. plus given its specs its Price is justified. just compare it to the few dual core phones around the 20k barrier.

I am not sure if its specific to USA only but play.google.com has some pretty good deals going on. For android games, its just $0.49 and a 20 song album is just 25 cents.

A great deal for wire-free access anytime, anywhere.

play.google.com = market.android.com They want to change the market to be non-android specific and make it a service where anyone on any mobile device can buy/play/share content.

The idea is correct but they could've kept the name market, I liked that name.

Thanks Gadgetfreak for the detailed instructions. Titanium backup can be a bit confusing for newbies :)

I know its the android market. But they have integrated everything into one. Not only android market, they included ebookstore and google music too. Good thing is, this will get rid of wires and this can be accessed anywhere. I like the concept. Since everything will be available under one roof, we don't have to go hunting everywhere. For instance, when i download music from android market, i have to go to google music to play. With this, i can do it straight from Google Play. Neat concept. I tested it with buying an album. It played flawlessly on my pc, phone and even on friends tabletclap:. Haven't tried on ipad or iphone yet.

As Shakespeare once said - What's in a name?:)

Hi All,

If you are using android market and if you update it and then search for the app (Market) you will not find it in your apps list, Please don't get worried as that app would be replaced by Play store app.

I had this issue in the morning and tried installing various versions of android market but was getting an FC. Good luck was that I had a TB backup so was able to restore the app, wiped all the data of market app and market agent and then started the app, it was replaced with Play store app.

I was getting all the stuff even before this happened. As in I was getting all the movies, music etc on market.android.com itself. For me this is just re-branding right now, hence the comment.

However Shakespeare DID write HIS name below this statement lol:.

Motorola Atrix 2 is now available in India at around 23k

The phone has a dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 processor, 4.3" Gorilla Glass screen, 8 MP shooter with 1080p HD video recording and 8 GB internal memory.

So will you pick this over, say Galaxy R?

At least 5MP camera
1 GHz processor (Or can be OC'ed to that)
512MB RAM
Good amount of internal memory
480x800 screen (or somewhere near that)
Decent battery life

Can I buy an Android meeting these criteria under or around 10K? :D

I know there was Blade / Dell XCD35 but I think that is no longer available.

If you can buy overseas. you'll get the Blades younger sibling. the Monte carlo for about 80 pounds contract free. ticks most boxes and adds a 4.3 inch screen.

If you want to buy indian. the cheapest phones with that resolution are the idea blade/Dell xcd 35.or the motorola defy (which will cost you a upwards of 10k)

Thanks. I really didn't like the inferior specs of phones in the near 8.5K-10K category, especially when you look at Moto Defy - Flipkart offers 13.3K for that kind of specs! Sadly it is out of stock. Moreover, mod-ability is so good in Defy and you can make it fly with some custom ROMs.

This is for my wife.
So I'm either going to buy a Defy or thinking about giving my HTC Desire to her and gifting myself a new dual core phone :D

But you want a 5 MP cam, right? The XCD35 has a 3 MP shooter and an exceedingly poor one at that! Defy plus also is not exactly known for its cam. It is of course much better than the XCD35 though. If cam quality is very important, suggest you look elsewhere.

Great idea. The desire looks good enough to be used by females. the defy does not.Plus you get an upgrade :D

BTW if you're fine with ebay sellers they have the sony neo V at the same price as a gen1 defy.you could go for that too
