1) It has a dedicated camera button, but not like the conventional 2 stage buttons used in most AF cameras including Neo. Its just a single stage button which will do both focusing and shooting.
2) Quality of shots, especially in low light is unacceptable.
If you're not a shutterbug, you can discard these two things. Being said that, I think Galaxy series is also not a master in this department.
Screen is no competition to AMOLED but its equally good. The most surprising part was that even at 4.3" it felt really comfortable to hold and to pocket it.
If you like a sturdy HW with an overall nice feel and excellent support for business users, yes go for it!!! With a 1Ghz Dual-Core and 1GB RAM, this will hopefully withstand another couple of years of Android evolution. |
Did not wait much. Ordered at Flipkart and it came in 2 days! I am not a major gaming person.
Most usage is restricted to browsing with Wifi, when I am not at Desktop with broadband.
That being my regular usage, battery lasts easily about 1-1.5 days.
(I optimize the corporate mail with a 15 minute sync rather than it being on all the time. )
Smooth display and it is responsive and a sturdy piece of H/W to support.
Fully satisfied as of today. Surprisingly its not easily available at the regular showrooms.

Hi All,
Still waiting for the response on the above as i have to finalize the Deal. as we have limited tablets for sale.
My Galaxy S I9000 is running the following ROM
Attachment 885182
It was quite good for the first few weeks. But now it is turning really wacky. Most of the Apps force close. Battery life is awful, to say the least!
Can somebody suggest a
stable ROM that has a decent battery life as well for the Galaxy Si9000.
Thanks!

I have been in the same boat as you. I tried nearly all ROMs out there but finally came back to GingerBread. According to me ICS is not yet that stable enough. For me the battery life too was a problem. Currently i am using F1 Galaxy S2 ROM, which totally looks like SGS2. Have used it now for about 3 weeks now and not a single FC or reboot. Battery life with moderate amount of Surfing, using 2x battery and gaming is easily 2 days. The link for the same is
[ROM] F1 Galaxy S II V7 [Look & Feel Of Galaxy S II][v8.0 (FINAL BETA!)][3-2-12] - xda-developers
This Rom could be a bit laggy if you use the default Semaphore kernel, but after first boot run the ext4 app, convert partitions to ext4 and then flash midnight kernel 0.9 on top of it using odin and you will be good to go.
Midnight kernel-
[kernel] midnight-0.9.0/12-03-07 - xda-developers
But still if you want to use ICS then Dark Knight is the best. Gives you plenty of personalization options and decent battery life.
[4.0.4][ROM] Dark Knight 3 [8/3/2012] - xda-developers
Can anyone suggest a good dual sim (GSM+GSM) Android phone? Thanks
^^^LG Optimus Net P698. Probably the best dual SIM droid as of now.

I guess it is a GSM+CDMA version and not GSM+GSM version. Please let me know if I'm wrong.

Is Galaxy Y that bad? Last I head it was selling in good numbers. I saw it myself when I went to a shop and there were many people checking that phone out. I know its a budget phone but isn't it value for money?

It has a 256k color, with 240x320 resolution screen. Good for 2007, but looks terrible in comparison to other touchscreen phones on the market today. It sells for about 7K, the cheapest smartphone on the market (excluding Micromax and all that), runs gingerbread and has a snappy processor. No wonder it sells like hotcakes.
I have a HTC chacha A810e.
Unfortunately i got the latest model, which is S-On.
anybody know who sells a device to make it S-Off. We can only root it if its S-Off, and as of now its not possible to make it S-Off with software.
Anybody has a solution, please let me know.
