Brand New Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 5.3" S-Amoled 16 GB Dual Core1.4 GHZ | eBay

Thanks for the link. But i just can't draw myself to buy from ebay. I'd rather buy it from an e-com 'retail' site like flipkart, letsbuy, etc. Still considering it though. Thanks anyways.

Any idea when the official update will be available? Sim free devices were supposed to get the upgrade on 19th. I checked today morning, the update is still not available. Am really frustrated now. :Frustrati

the dates jumped from 13th to 15th march.
nordic region along with Korea got on 15th and then few other Europeans joined the ICS wagon!!
UK was getting it on 19th.no exact dates for India!

Already the dates for ICS in Galaxy Note has been pushed to Q2 of this year.

Im guessing we will have to wait maximum for a week within which the S2 will be upgraded!

@anilkalvani
you can confidently go for the Note from ebay.
i got my S2 from them and any issues will be sorted by your local Samsung service centre.

The wait will be much longer for most of the indian users.

The ICS update has been released for the SII l9100 .NOT the l9100G. most of the devices sold in India are the "G" version

No.the ICS update in India has not come for I9100 yet.
The I9100G will probably get it after the Galaxy Note updates,i.e in April mid or after along with Galaxy R!!

I was just pointing out that the "G" variant hasn't got an ICS update. and will get it much later . Just like the galaxy SL did not get gingerbread when the S did

Hi All,

Has anyone come across any APP or any way by which a video can be used as Boot animation and shutdown animation file for any android phone firstly and then probably if the answer is yes I can try the same for my SGS2.

Ads within apps consume more energy than the app itself :)

It is a kernel level function I believe. In GNote, Checkrom's Kitchen app supports that functionality where you could update the boot animation as a zip file.

There should be similar thing for SGS2, but you should be rooted.

So to answer your question- I do not know of any APP, but I am sure there is a way if you are on a custom ROM/Kernel and are rooted.

Worrying signs for ANDroid

Android loses developer interest due to fragmentation

Guys can anyone please tell me application to control itunes over wifi, tried one but it was not working, the one for VLC player works fine.

Hi Anil,

I have a rooted SGS2 and I am on checkrom v6 only. I have made my own bootanimation files but they all are made of .png files, Was checking if there is any app which uses video files to make boot animations.

Then just find out where the boot animatipns are stored using app like root explorer and replace the current files.

Or

For gnote i have a zip file with scripts to do so. You might want to check similar boot animations. Zip for s2 on xda forum extract the zip replace the animation files withyour animations and flash them as update.zip
Using cwm or like?

P.s do it at your own risk.

uhh that information was discovered by Purdue & Microsoft researchers. Do I need to say it is a load of FUD?

Step 1 – Prepare odin with the firmware u want to flash and get it ready to go;

Step 2 – Remove battery, SIM and SD card, next connect your galaxy mini to the computer;

Step 3 – Hold Volume down + Power + Home button at the same time;

Step 4 – Insert the battery and wait a bit;

Step 5 – At this point Odin should have detected your phone

Step 6 – Click Start button in Odin and wait about 5 min.

if this dint work do the following:
[TUTORIAL] Unbrick Mini S5570 (Bricked With Black Screen) - Android Forums

stock firmware:
Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 Stock ROM Download

I went ahead with the steps in that link. I can't get past the stage where windows installed "odin" drivers. In my case, it is not detecting the phone when I connect the phone, press the three buttons together and while inserting the battery keeping them pressed.

If I just the phone to PC with battery on, I am able to start the download using odin, and it just goes on an on with only one line in the status "Starting download...". Phone heats up quite a bit.

At first the phone kept disconnecting itself every 30 seconds or so, so ODIN could not continue. Now, after few trials, it has stopped but it is stuck in this state for ever -

And that makes it acceptable?

I think now are seeing the costs of "free" in terms of advertisement :)
