I read that I can use a "sim cutter" to cut normal sim, and it will become micro sim, and work perfectly. Anybody used it here. Cutters cost 100rs approx, and the mobile shop people charge 100rs for cutting. So it makes sense to buy cutter and cut yourself!

Yes, it works perfectly. Got a cutter for 200 bucks early last year.
After cutting ,make sure to keep the remaining part of the sim safe , its used as a converter if needed for other phones.
Tasting original Jellybean right now, on my Tab 2 clap: Thank you Samsung.

Hey when did u get the official JB update? Was it a OTA?
Guys, I need an android based phone, budget is 20-25k strict. Which one to pic. I liked the xperia p. Is it a good choice or are there more better choice. Am not worried about the camera in it nor an expandable memory slot(16gigs of the xperia p is enough for me, as I have used only half of the same capacity in my current x6)
Please help
Thanks in advance :)

agree: I used the same template around an year and half back to cut my airtel sim to fit it in iphone 4 which i bought from Canada. Worked like a charm.
Defy+ problem, maybe.
Isn't it supposed to turn off the display when you put it against your ear, or when you put it in your pocket? It doesn't do either, and if I don't manually lock it, putting it my pocket means it responds to random touches which I then have to back out of.
Stock everything except rooted and using titanium backup.

Please check: Settings -> Call settings -> Turn on proximity sensor.
Nope. Not there. It tells me there is a system update, though, but that failed. Do I need to unroot it before doing a system update?
Just got an Adobe Flash update and flash is now working on my Atrix 2 (running stock ICS 4.0.4) ! :Cheering:
That was my only grouse with the ICS update. I had tried the apk's from xda, but none worked till the update today.
Reduced the DPI of my Nexus 7 and it is more like a tablet now! Apps like Youtube appear completely in a different layout than what's shown in a phone's UI. You really get more real estate on the screen.
If you have a rooted tablet, just edit the DPI setting line in /system/build.prop file and restart - you're done.
Default DPI of N7 is 213, I just changed it to 180.

Try turning off the auto brightness (this is from xda).
Also, root will not affect system update. It may or may not remove the root, however.CIP, I lost the root on my tab after an update ,but not my phone.

Vaisakh, for 25k you can get the HTC One S. IMHO, this is a better phone in almost every way.
It's way better looking, got a better processor(dual Krait cores), bigger screen, better UI (I prefer Sense to Sony's Timescape) and has the same 16GB internal memory.(no SD card slot though).
I think this phone is pretty much the best in this range.
PS - I was actually going to suggest the Atrix 2, as its total VFM, but now with the future of Moto in India so spotty, I wouldn't put my money on a Moto phone.
