Maruti Swift or Hyundai i10?

Hi

Planning to buy 1st car and short listed Maruti Swift VXi and Hyundai i10 Magna. Please provide your suggestions which is the best one for at least 5 Years? Driving mostly in City and 20 KMs per day.

Thanks.

If you love to drive- Swift! Not doubt at all.

However, if you are looking for a family car, i10 presents a good option as well. I would still prefer the Swift, but then the i10 interiors make a statement for itself.

Engine is the same old Santro engine. However, its not as fun to drive as the Santro or the Getz 1.1. The instant low-end response of the eRLX motor is missing.

However, hyundai sales people will try hard to tell its not the old engine, but new 'iRDE' technology!

Interiors in i10 may look slightly better, but when it comes to driving it is Swift all the way. I agree with CrazyDriver that i10 seems to lack the grunt a Santro had, though I have never driven it. I have indeed driven a Swift, and it is a pleasure to drive.

if you were to compare the swift and the 1.3 getz, it would have been different, if the comparision is between swift and i10, its swift all the way. there are no discounts available for the i10 and getz 1.1, but you will get a discount on 1.3 getz upto 50k in the last 2 weeks of december, take a look at that also.

Swift will be better buy that i10. Especially since i10 is just launched, it has to prove it in its class. Lot of buyer experiences too in this forum.
