Folks,
I am looking for professional Car Care shops / workshops in Pune. Want to give a wax polish to my India Xeta (@3 years young). I had read somewhere on Team-BHP that there's one such place on Paud Road.
Can somebody give me exact address of that shop ? Or if there are any good shops in Kothrud, Deccan, Shivaji Nagar area for Car Care / cleaning.
Thanks for your response!!

^^^ I know of two. One is called Sagar, if I recall correct. Its on the main road and easy to find. It is approx. opposite to More, on the left road, on the left side when coming from Chandani Chowk. I have been here for bike washing. Didn't quite like the way were doing the cars... you'll have to direct them if you want it done right. Also they could not tell me what soap/shampoo they were using, so I made them use mine.

To find the 2nd one, take the left turn to go to Vishwas Library (I guess its behind Canara Bank). when coming from Chandani chowk. The road is a slight gradient. You will see a fairly big board on the right after couple mins. Haven't tried this place yet.

Seems that art leather is the way to go, as long as one uses a good quality PU material. I do have to occasionally park in the open and Pune does get very hot in the summer but no choice there I guess.

The Maruti dealer has some nice art leather ones with a perforated back and bottom but don't want to go for that as he is unable to show me what kind of fit he can deliver and is only available in black, which is a no-no for me.

Can anyone suggest a good place in Pune to get this done, where a good variety is available on display, fitting is good. Also which brands to go for to ensure one gets good quality PU covers.

Try carax near Balewadi stadium (on Bangalore highway). There you will find variety of seat covers at competitive price. Plus you can visit their basement to see the LIVE work going on. At any given point of time there are 5-6 vehicles for different works.

Thanks! Checked out yesterday, a little expensive but impressive setup... Seeing a Civic being worked on gave me some sense of confidence... Ordered PU car seats, leather steering cover will update once done...

Even I am planning since long time for a leather steering cover but I am too lazy. Can you please share the price for steering cover ?
PS : You can bargain at Carax.

Stanley black leather steering cover for Rs 750.. I did bargain a bit and got the fitting charges (for seat covers) waived. Not much, but every lil helps!

Hi all ye Pune guys, I noted only ONE mention about car-air-conditioning shop on Karve Road from various threads and this one on TBHP. So my querry is, if it is better to get the cleaning / refilling of AC at authorised centres or are there other good ones. My car => Maruti DLX. Preferred around civilian Pune CAMP areas.

^^^ That would depend on who does a better job. Chances are that an AC specialist will do the job cheaper. Also, the purity of the gas used matters a lot... so keep that in mind. If possible check what they are using.

there is one good guy somewhere between turf club and Bishops, dont have precise contacts but can guide you to the place, it is hidden in one of the old colonial building and there are no sign boards, but as soon as you see the cars he does you will have no second thoughts, cost is reasonable, call me for further

Picked up Formula1 Carnauba Wax (paste tin) from accessories shop next to McDonalds on JM Road (think its called Sunny Cars or something like that) for Rs 250. Seems genuine enough and the results of the first waxing done over the weekend are quite good.

Would have preferred Turtle though, but looks like the Xenos-Turtle tie up is not delivering in Pune as yet as the owner at the shop was completely unaware of this...

^^^ Dude, you would have got Turtle at a accessories shop on the opp. side (approximately) of the road from where you bought F1... and cheaper too.

I suggest the AC job should be done at MASS. i had issues when i got it done from somewhere else and finally i had to get it done again at MASS. a simple o-ring problem leads to whole sort of leakages and what not

Any details please... I did hear of one a little further on the opposite side next to Khyber restaurant but that one has closed. Couldn't see any other on the opposite side on that stretch of road (i.e. opposite McDonalds) though I did look around.

The place is owned by Shabir and its behind the Freemasons Hall. If you go toward the Turf Club, past Bishops School (with the field on your left) the hall is on your right just before the roundabout. He is really good and knows his stuff.

Waxing ?

Has anyone got waxing done somewhere near to Kothrud? I am too lazy to do it myself.
I visited Sagar Cleaning next to Ex-serviceman Post office (More Vidyalaya) at Kothrud, charges told to me were 800 rupees. Is this normal ?

Also only cleaning (washing) charges = Rs 180.
