Which Insurance Company?

This was the poll which struck my mind after so many polls coming up on Team Bhp. Since, this is the field im going to enter in a short while (unoffcially already started), why not find out which insurance company is popular among bhpians.

Also would like to know :
1. Whether its a Comprehensive or Third Party Insurance
2. Any previous incidents while getting your claim / service given by company
3. Any suggestions
4. If any other company please specify.

P.S. Any information regarding Insurance feel free to contact.

TATA-AIG for me. Extremely helpful in settling claims & within short period of time. I love the direct settlement policy on that the most although most of the companies offer it now. I had experience with New india & boy are they slow ! My cheque came after about 3 months..pathetic!

Tata-AIG. Have banged taken 4 claims in 3 years. Nothing higher than 30K, and all the time they lived up to the cashless promise. Never once i had to haggle with them on what counts and what does not. Whatever damage i told them, they took it at face value. No bargaining.

New India Assurance for me. Yes, they are slow in paying out, and they are behind the times as in they don't have the cashless scheme, BUT, my agent gives me excellent service, going out of her way to get things done for me, and at times, even bending the rules for me!

I had the unfortunate experienc of dealing with ICICI and they are TERRIBLE! All their claims about great customer service etc. are rubbish. They would not provide rally cover insurance for my car, nor would they give me a reason why. I can't be more pissed at a company than I am at ICICI.

My Omni was insured with Oriental. No claims there so I can't comment. They were pretty prompt in sending premuim reminders etc.
My KB125 is insured with Oriental (different branch) for the 9th year running. They don't even send me reminders :-(
My Indica LSi is insured with TATA AIG for the 3rd year running. Had an accident claim in the 1st year. Very efficient. I had a police certificate saying the accident wasn't my fault. Not sure if that speeded things up but the total survey and finalisation of repairs took 30 minutes. They live up to their cashless claim!

my both the cars insured with United India.

one of the branch managers is a close family friend so no problems settling the claims fast. in fact he delivers the cheque to us personally. even the claim form and the estimate can be handed over to the surveyor at the time of the survey so no time wasted in submission of the claim forms etc.

my hubby's pulsar insured with new india and the service is pathetic. the claim of accident in January still pending.

other private insurance companies are giving a run for their money to thses national companies which might end up in the consumer benefitting the best.
