Re: Tata Aria 4X2 launch next week; Fiesta launch on July 10th

The overall pricing strategy of ARIA seems to indicate some confidence from TML. Only time will tell whether this confidence is misplaced or not. One has to agree that the quality and reliability has increased overall and hence the high price may be somewhat justified.

With the introduction of ARIA 4x2 the sales nos might hit 500 per month in the local market and stabilize around there. The bigger challenge for TML is to make the technology and engineering flow downstream to improve the lower end models in the UV/SUV/MUV segments from Sumo to Safari. I am almost certain Merlin will have many of the quality improvements one saw in ARIA. Otherwise all this investment and effort to sell around 500 nos would be a very expensive brand building exercise.

The bottom line is, the Aria now starts at a price range which is cheaper by 1.3L approx. Which I believe is a good price for a vehicle like Aria. Those who say the price is way too high is basically looking more into the "TATA" tag but as a vehicle it is really good.

How can Tata price the Aria cheaper than its own Safari? Moreover, the Aria was never going to be Tata's bread and butter product, it was meant for brand development and to basically showcase what the company is capable of.

Please do not take offence but those who compare ARIA with INNOVA needs to test drive both the vehicles. Both are simply in different segments!

INNOVA is a people mover and the best available in the country at the price point! ARIA is more in the league of a FORTUNER with way better features and ride but from a brand which is yet to prove itself in the segment.

Those who still want to compare Aria with Innova, can use the foll link

Prices in Maharashtra are most likely to be low as there are no interstate transport taxes/octroi to be paid, as the manufacturing is in Pune.
