| ![]() Link to News Section Tata Motors will give the Indica Vista hatchback a comprehensive makeover next year, and the 2014 Indian Auto Expo is a likely venue for the facelifted model's official unveiling. Along with the facelifted Vista, the stylistic changes are likely to be carried over to the 2014 version of the Manza sedan as well. The Indigo Manza platform will also host an all-new compact sedan from the Tata stable, and the first batch of test mules are all set to hit roads in the coming days. Team-BHP's rendering artist AntlerRoad has put together a speculative render of the Tata Manza-based compact sedan. ![]() The Tata Manza-based compact sedan will adopt Tata Motors' aggressive new styling philosophy first showcased to the world through the Manza Hybrid at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo. The Manza Hybrid's front end, replete with smoked headlamps, restyled bumpers and a new grille, is likely to make its way onto the compact sedan variant. Also, other changes such as the relocation of turn indicators, from under the wing mirrors to a position over the front wheel wells, and a new, stubby boot section inspired by the Honda Amaze will be seen on the new compact sedan from Tata Motors. For a competitive price tag on the back of lower excise, it is imperative that Tata Motors engineers its latest compact sedan to measure within 4 meters in length. In line with the sub-4 meter length, the petrol and diesel engine capacities of the compact sedan need to meet the sub-1.2 liter and sub-1.5 liter restrictions respectively. Therefore, expect the Manza compact sedan to dig into the parts bin of the Indica Vista and the Indigo Manza for engines and gearboxes. With the five speed manual gearbox as standard fare on both petrol and diesel engines, the 1.2 liter XETA petrol and the 1.3 liter Fiat Multijet turbo diesel engines are likely to find use in the Manza compact sedan. The compact sedan segment manages to generate well over 20,000 units in terms of monthly sales and is therefore too big a space for any major car maker to ignore. While Tata Motors already has the pioneering Indigo eCS compact sedan operating in this segment, the car has been a tepid success for the brand. This is a major reason behind Tata Motors' decision to line up an all new compact sedan based on the Indigo Manza. Apart from Tata Motors, Hyundai is readying up a Grand i10-based compact sedan while Maruti Suzuki is likely to explore a lower price band with the next-generation Alto/A-Star/YL7 based compact sedan. | ![]() This does look pretty good and more importantly looks very proportionate. I hope some one from the Tata Motors design team does take a look at this rendering. |

BHPian ![]() | ![]() The render is good and has potential! The car also looks better proportioned with the rear over-hang reduced. Now to see if Tata takes T-BHP's render seriously! |

| ![]() This rendering surely looks good and the rear in particular reminds me of the first generation Hyundai Verna. However, Tata must work on teh front design of the car and it should be something similar to this rendering i.e. angular headlamps and a big grille. The current Manza IMHO has a small grille which makes it look staid/bland upfront and just don't get me started about the rear style. Hence, a chopped off boot and aggressive front and rear styling and Tata has a winner on its hands. |

| ![]() We need to wait and watch as to how different this sedan would look from the existing Manza in person. If we observe the front windshield (slightly pushed inside) and the inconclusive grill, which Tata, knowing Indian buyers' tastes would fill with chrome. Eventually, this might end up looking similar to the existing Manza. |

BHPian ![]() | ![]() This looks like an interesting and promising render. Very proportionate too. Have been hearing a lot of positive things that are happening at TATA motors, now only if those boardrooms plans turn in to realities on road. Hopefully we will see some of those ideas at the upcoming auto-expo cheers! |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() The rendering looks spot on here with the scoop pics, the front radiator grill and bumper does look similar. The best part is the car looks proportionate than the crushed design of the Dzire. |

| ![]() This looks a lot more proportionate than any other car in the segment right now. And from some angles it resembles the previous generation Verna to an extent. I hope this one clicks for Tata Motors. |

| ![]() First looks are Proportionate, But where this will be placed? As Tata already has the Indigo CS, Hence feel the customers will be confused, if both the products are sold together. Currently in Bangalore, Indigo eCS LS sells @ 554840.00 Manza Qjet90 LS sells @ 597322 * Tata motors Website With Manza CS the price will have to be at the price of Indigo eCS, hence i feel it may, 1) either Indigo eCS will be Discontinued, and Manza CS & Manza regular will continue, 2) Indigo eCS price reduced, and Manza New CS & Manza regular discontinued, and Falcon 5 replace Manza regular. 3) Indigo eCS discontinued, Manaza CS & Falcon 5. 4) But most probably, it would be eCS, Manza CS & Falcon 5, With Manza CS at currently Manza Price. What you guys think? |
